problems starting over

Hi there. I never really got 1Password setup. I did setup a master password which I no longer remember. So I want to bring 1Password back to a clean state and begin the setup again.

I followed https://learn2.agilebits.com/1Password4/Mac/en/KB/start-over.html but when I restart 1Password it is still asking for a master password.

Note, I'm also trying to do the same thing with my iOS version of 1Password.

Any help appreciated.

@anuaimi: Sorry for the confusion! It looks like you're following a guide for an older version, which probably doesn't help. And it's important to note that if you're 1Password data is sync'd to iCloud, it will just grab the vault from there again, which is where you're running into trouble. Just follow these guides:

    1. Remove all 1Password data from iCloud (you only need to do this on one device which is syncing with your iCloud account).
    2. Start over with an empty vault (Mac)
    3. Start over with an empty vault (iOS)

And just as long as you don't have any other vaults hanging around (Dropbox, hard drive, etc.), when you run 1Password again for the first time, you'll be starting from scratch. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions! :)
