Unchecking "Verify browser code signature" doesn't help.

Hi @teamnoir,
Both Firefox and Chrome have made a number of changes recently and we're busy catching up. It means that the extension definitely doesn't work with Chrome at the moment (although the latest I heard is partly that might be a bug on their end) and with Firefox we need to go through some more steps which the devs are ironing out now. This page will probably be of interest to you, Fix for installing unsigned add-ons in Firefox Dev and Nightly. The reason our option didn't help is that it is Firefox refusing to install the unsigned extension rather than us not being able to confirm the signature of Firefox.
Does that help at all?

Yes, thanks. Looks like that will do for a while.
I hope you get the signing stuff ironed out before 42 arrives and signatures become mandatory.

Indeed! We're on the case (just waiting for Mozilla to approve it). ;)

Thanks for the update, brenty! I just ran into this on the FF dev channel and was like ???, so it's good to see you guys were on it already.
