Can't sync due to "different vault than originally configured"

I have 1Password for iOS, version 5.4.3. I've been using 1Password for Mac, version 3. It's been a long time (over a year) since syncing worked for me between the two devices, and I hoped that upgrading to version 4 on the Mac would solve that, so I upgraded today. The upgrade on the Mac seemed to go OK. When I tried to sync via wifi with the iPhone, though, I got the above error message (it also said Error domain code = 7027). What should I do? I have never entered a password on my iPhone, only on my Mac (in other words, all the passwords on the iPhone are already in my Mac database) so I'm fine with deleting my iPhone database and starting over, if that would work. However, I need to know how to do that. (Or some other solution if there's a better one). Another thing you should know is that there were far fewer passwords on the iPhone because I stopped syncing so long ago, and many of the passwords on the iPhone are out of date and have been changed since the last time a sync worked.

1Password Version: 5.4.3
Extension Version: 4.4.2
OS Version: OS X 10.9.5
Sync Type: Dropbox in past, would like to use Wifi instead

@lleonard4: If you're okay starting over with a fresh vault on iOS and syncing it over from the Mac, that will be the simplest solution: just delete 1Password for iOS from your iPhone and reinstalling it. Then you can sync everything over when you set it up. Easy!

The other option involves backing up your data and then restoring it after reinstalling the app, but it sounds like that probably won't be worth the trouble of sorting through the obsolete data there. Please let me know how you'd like to proceed! :)
