1Password deleting manually filled in fields
Hello
The way I used previous versions of 1password was to save the password only (without email address), which worked fine (simplicity + I guess an extra level of security). However if I do that now: a) I type email address b) go to one password to complete password c) onepassword deletes the email address I filled in before trying to submit!
Any help much appreciated, bit of a pain given this is how Ive setup ALL my logins. Cheers

Hi @paljk,
Can you tell us a bit more please, I'd be interested in the following.
- What version did you move from where this worked?
- How do you create your Login items, do you create them from within the main 1Password window or do create them from within the browser using the extension?
That might help us understand what is happening

Hey,
Apologies don't actually remember version where it was working (may have even been a major release quite a few months back). I usually create logins using the chrome plugin. Cheers0 -
Hi @paljk,
I've done some testing with Twitter, and I can confirm what you're seeing. Here's what I did:
- Opened https://twitter.com and filled in a password
- I used ⌘⌥\ ( Command-Option- \ ) to open 1Password mini and saved a new Login item
- Then I refreshed the screen, typed in a username and used ⌘\ ( Command- \ ) to fill from 1Password
- 1Password replaced the username with a blank field and correctly input my password
Now, here's why this is happening: when you ask 1Password to save a Login item, it's recording all of the details that you've filled on that page so that it can re-create that the next time you log in. If you're going through this process and only filling in the password, it's assuming that this is how you want the form to look next time.
Personally, I think it's awesome to have 1Password fill all my details all of the time. I would recommend saving both your username and password in when you create a Login item. (But that's just me!) I do have a solution for you if you'd like to continue saving just your passwords in 1Password. If you disable the 'Automatically submit logins after filling' option in Preferences > Browser, you can use 1Password to open the page and fill your password, and then manually type in your username or email address. Here's how that would look:
- In a browser, use ⌘⌥\ ( Command-Option- \ ) to open Mini
- Start typing the title of the Login you wish to use
- Once it's highlighted, hit 'Enter'
- 1Password will open the page, and fill in your password
- You can then tab back to enter your username/email address and hit 'Enter' to submit the details.
Please let me know if this helps!
