Megan, Yes Drew's answer did help BUT still having problems. If I make a change or addition to 1P on my Mac I am certain the change definitely goes thru DropBox. When I open 1P on iPad there is no change or addition that I just made. I now go to DropBox on iPad and I see a new folder [1 Password] has been added to the list of folders. I open that folder and see another folder [1 Password.agilekeychain], on opening that displays a file [1Password.html and an ERROR screen comes up [Problem loading 1Password data file]. In the dialog that follows it is suggested that following the link [A key data file] would lead to the location of bad file BUT resting finger on that link DOES NOTHING so I can't locate the bad file.
Keep in mind that I deleted 1Password yesterday on iPad and installed a new copy which worked for just once to sync from Mac to iPad.
Any ideas whats happening. Thanks - Stowell

    added note to above...
I deleted file [1Password.html] on iPad and went back to 1P and added a new login to see what would happen in DropBox. After following the trail above I saw the same error screen. So, adding a new login to 1P did NOT get through DropBox but deleting the file 1Password.html did get through to my Mac's notifications.

    Hi @scwerden,

I hope you don't mind, but since this is a different issue than the one from your previous discussion, I've moved your messages about Dropbox sync to a new thread in order to avoid confusion. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with Dropbox sync!

You won't be able to view your 1Password vault from the Dropbox app on iOS. The 1Password.html file can be opened from the dropbox.com website in a web browser as part of a feature we call 1PasswordAnywhere, but that won't work in the Dropbox iOS app (your data bundle is made up of hundreds of small files, but the Dropbox app can only load a single file at a time). At any rate, setting up Dropbox sync in 1Password for iOS doesn't involve opening the Dropbox app at all - the Dropbox sync settings are within the 1Password app.

If your 1Password data isn't syncing correctly, the first thing to check is that Dropbox sync is enabled in 1Password on your Mac and iPad:

On your Mac, open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Sync tab. Does that show your vault is syncing with Dropbox? If not, follow these steps to set up Dropbox sync.

On your iPad, open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync. Does it show that the Sync Service is Dropbox? If not, follow these steps to set up Dropbox sync.

If Dropbox sync is already set up in 1Password on both your Mac and iPad, but the sync isn't working, follow these steps to make sure they're syncing with the same keychain file in Dropbox:

    On your Mac:

    • Open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences
    • Click the Sync tab
    • Check the file path for the 1Password.agilekeychain file

    On your iPad:

    • Open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync > Sync Service
    • Check the file path for the 1Password.agilekeychain file (underneath Current Sync Method / Dropbox)

If the problem is that one is syncing with a different keychain file than the other, you'll need to disable the sync, then set it up again and choose the correct keychain file.

Let us know how it goes and what you find, thanks!

All seems to be well with both Mac & iPad - Question is...How did these preference get change when all was working for years. All I did was update to "Yosemite"
    Thanks for a great solution

    Greetings @scwerden,

When you say change to preference do you mean one of your copies of 1Password was no longer synchronising?

This setting will change automatically if at any point 1Password found the sync container was missing or is in fact a different container based on a change to the container's UUID. It's a precaution but at the time you should have been warned. It doesn't seem clear why this should have happened in your case though if this is indeed what happened. Can you confirm what had changed please.
