Initial Behavior after installing
Hi,
I love 1password. I recommend it to my clients and then I help them install it and get it set up. Both Windows and Mac. (Really wish you still had an affiliates program!) So many, many times when I then want to demonstrate to them how the mini-app will open up and ask to save a login - it doesn't do it! I joke about the program "making a liar" out of me - but it doesn't help to convince them to use it. I've searched all over for some preference etc.. but haven't found it. Is there a known delay? Something that needs to happen?
I"m still looking for an easy, direct way to teach it to them. My clients tend to be older, NOT techy folks. (See my site http://patientsympatheticcoaching.com to get an idea.)
Thanks for help!
Annamarie

Hi Annamarie,
Thank you so much for helping to spread the word about 1Password and for helping your clients get set up and learn how to use it! It's important for people to keep their private data safe & secure, but for some folks, that can certainly seem like a daunting task at first. It's awesome that you're committed to helping them with that! :)
Without having a specific example/client to work with, it's very difficult to say why the extension might not ask to save a new Login item, as there are various things that could potentially cause that. The first thing to do of course is to make sure you/they have installed the 1Password extension in their web browser. If the extension is installed and working properly, saving a Login should work as described in this knowledgebase article.
If that's not working as expected on any website, the following article has some basic troubleshooting steps that may help: 1Password did not automatically offer to save my Login on a website
If it still isn't working correctly, the troubleshooting we would normally do depends greatly on the setup of a specific customer. For example, we often ask for information including the computer's OS and version, versions of 1Password and the 1Password extension, the web browser (and version) being used, which website is not working correctly with the extension, and so on. If there are any specific error messages involved, that helps too. It sounds like you're asking what to do in general when something like that happens, but if you needed help with a specific client, we'll be more than happy to help with that if you can let us know more details.
I hope this helps! If you have more questions or need help with a specific client, just let us know - we're here for you! :)
