1Password extension (stable) does not currently work in Firefox 41 (beta)
1Password extension is disabled by FF 41.
What is a simple solution to this problem?
I've read other responses in this forum and they are not clear. What is a link to the FF extension that is signed by Mozilla and works in FF 41?

I don't want a beta version just GIVE A STABLE SIGNED VERSION- you've had months to do this.

See this AgileBits post. (I note you're unimpressed with it but have to say that, on the basis you're using a beta version of Firefox it doesn't seem entirely unreasonable you should have to use a beta version of the 1P extension. :) )
Please note I'm merely a volunteer here so the views are my own, and not those of AgileBits.

See my comments about beta versions of things generally in the other thread which you started.

Hi @dillera,
I merged both of your posts about this into this thread, to avoid confusion. I'm sorry you're having trouble with the 1Password extension in the Firefox 41 beta!
You didn't mention which version of 1Password you're using on your Mac. If you happen to be using 1Password 3, please take a look here: 1Password 3 extension missing in Firefox 40 or later
However, my guess is that you're using 1Password 5 for Mac because I see you have a license for that from the AgileBits Store. As you may have already discovered by reading other threads, Firefox 41 will require all extensions to be signed and distributed through the official Mozilla add-on site. Please take a look at this support article for more information: Firefox Extension Signing
Firefox 41 is currently a beta version of the Firefox browser, and we currently have a beta version of the extension for 1Password 5 that is signed and will work in the Firefox 41 beta. Once the stable version of Firefox 41 is released, the stable version of the 1Password extension will also be signed and ready to go. In the meantime, you have a couple options for using 1Password with Firefox:
- If you'd like to continue using the Firefox 41 beta, you'll need to install the 1Password extension beta.
Or:
- If you'd like to continue using the stable version of the 1Password extension, you'll need to switch to the latest stable version of Firefox, which is currently 40.0. (Please note that Firefox 40 will give a warning about unsigned extensions, but they are still allowed to run).
I hope that helps to explain what's happening and what you can do to use the 1Password extension with Firefox. If you have more questions about that, please let us know! :)

AFAIK I'm not supposed to be using FF betas- I've looked at my FF config and while I did have "Automatically install updates (recommended: improved security)" checked- that's what upgraded all my FF on my macs yesterday and today- Nowhere does it say I want to be getting beta builds.
I realize this has nothing to do with AgileBits, I'll go look over in the Mozilla forums to figure this out.
I did go back and download FF 40, install it and disable updates from Mozilla. 1P works fine now.
I didn't realize FF41 was a beta that they pushed out to me! My angst was misdirected, seeing as how what you have now makes perfect sense (Beta 1P following Beta FF).
Thanks for the clear and concise answer. This just shows that I'm pretty much dead in the water without 1P working for me

Hi @dillera,
You're very welcome, I'm glad I was able to help! I'm not sure how you ended up with a Firefox beta either, but you're not alone - we sometimes hear from other customers who are also using a beta browser without realizing it. My best guess is that somewhere along the line, you may have downloaded Firefox from a link that wasn't clearly labelled as a beta. That's just speculation of course, but if that happened, it sounds like you didn't run into any problems until recently, so there probably weren't any obvious indications that you were using a beta.
Anyway, I'm glad it's working for you now in Firefox 40! If you run into more problems with the extension or have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know - we're here for you! :)

Yes, I think that is the explanation.

"Install a release version of Firefox to get on the Release Channel. "By downloading and re-installing FF40 I shouldn't have any more surprise Betas.

By downloading and re-installing FF40 I shouldn't have any more surprise Betas.
Yes, you should be correct about that - even if you choose to enable automatic updates in Firefox. Either way, hopefully everything continues to work perfectly for you, but we're glad to help if you need anything else!
