Suggestion - Create a new item
Please create a new item for things that are purchased that have serial numbers such as computers, printers, cameras, etc

Thank you for your request! It's difficult to have categories that would apply to every possible type of information our customers might want to store in 1Password, but I can definitely see how serial numbers for equipment would be useful. We receive a lot of requests for various, additional categories, and although I can't promise anything, I can send your suggestion along to our developers.
For now, we usually suggest storing data in Secure Notes if there's not a more suitable category - although you can certainly use a different item type if you want. Hopefully we'll come up with a better solution in the future.

Thanks for your response. I have been using Secure Notes since no other category seemed to fit the bill.
Maybe extra fields can be added to the Category of Software License since the items to be entered are similar.

Actually, it's already possible to add additional fields to items in any category! You can find out how to do that here: Add custom fields
