Most recent Mac iCloud version always on AppStore?
Is the most recent Mac version always on the AppStore? I see that the most recent Mac version is 5.3.2, but AppStore has older 5.3. I had assumed that I would be getting timely updates through the AppStore.
1Password Version: 5.3

New versions are released to the AgileBits web store and to Apple at the same time. There usually is a small delay getting things up on the Mac App Store, though, because Apple reviews all submissions before posting them. AgileBits can post their version as soon as the developers know it's ready. The time difference isn't usually very much - perhaps a few days or a week. So you are indeed getting timely updates through the Mac App Store.
As far as function is concerned, the versions available today in both places are functionally equivalent, with the exception that the version from the Mac App Store has access to iCloud for syncing, whereas the version sold directly from AgileBits does not. This is because Apple only makes the required protocols for iCloud syncing available to application they sell themselves. Developer sales are closed out; this applies to all applications, not just 1Password.
I don't believe the version numbers convey any significant information regarding feature sets, but someone else will have to say why the numbers differ.

I gathered, from other discussions, that the reason the AgileBits version is 5.3.2 and the App Store version is 5.3 is that some changes (relating to licensing) were introduced in the AgileBits version that just were not relevant to purchases through the App Store.

@rwshirey: Let's not play the numbers game. The release notes tell the real story. ;)

Indeed, while there's no reason to submit v5.3.2 to the App Store, if we did it would be a surefire way to get 1Password pulled, as 3rd party in-app purchase options are simply not allowed. Thinking about it is funny, but that would be a big mess for everyone if we did it.
