1Password Fill Shortcut

I could be missing something as am new to 1Password after migrating from Password Depot which does actually autofill fields based on URL. Now I have worked out the CTRL + \ to fill fields. That key combination isn't super convenient so I have change it to ALT + A. The thing is though that CTRL + \ used to fill and submit where as ALT + A or any other combination I have changed it to pops up a context menu which you have to select the Password from and then it autofills.

This doesn't seem correct shouldn't the chosen key combination just fill that same way the default CTRL + \ combination fills ?

@rjay Alt is a special key. It will force the 1Password popup menu to always appear.

Ok, I figured CTRL was a special key as well ;) All good, I will try another key. Can't use the Windows key by the looks ?

@rjay: Negative. The Windows key is used for global system shortcuts pretty heavily.

Best alternative combination on the left hand side of the KB? as figure that is where would be most convenient

@rjay: Hmm, that's a tough one, as it will depend on your keyboard layout and habits. I don't do this myself because it's bound to another app, but perhaps Ctrl ~ could work. Now, I guess this would technically be the ` key, but that's really hard for me to see, both here in my post and on the keyboard itself. I know a lot of people use ~ as a push-to-talk hotkey for gaming. Just a thought. :)

yeh I will try this, I should be ok as I am not a gamer :chuffed: Yeh it seems that right hand is always going to be on the mouse and left hand is near left edge of keyboard so CTRL + \ doesn't make much sense to me as left hand is not going to drift that far across the keyboard often. Could also just be me being fussy ;)

    thanks

Any time! Honestly, if I didn't spend most of my time mouse-less, I'd probably be doing something similar myself. ;)
