I get the where is "2BUA8C4S2C.... etc" error
And I've noticed that there is no helper in ~/Library/Containers. I resintalled 1PW5 (just a drag and drop), but still no helper. How do I reinstall it? is it necessary?

Hi @rob_gendreau,
The
~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/
folder only relates to the Mac App Store version of 1Password but the version number you've supplied is for the AgileBits Store version that you download from our site. Could you tell us what the full error you're seeing is please, a screenshot of the error message is fine if it's easier than trying to type out the whole thing. Also, do you happen to know where you purchased 1Password from, was it from our AgileBits Store or was it from Apple's Mac App Store?Hopefully those nuggets of information will allow us to understand what you're experiencing and be able to properly advise

The problem is intermittent, so I don't have a screenshot. But it is virtually identical to the ones here, the difference being the list of applications:
I purchased 1PW probably direct from AgileBits; in any case, it was before the Mac App Store was created.
The helper is mentioned in the logs in Console; and 1Password Mini starts up and runs as expected.
I did notice this in the logs, although it doesn't seem related:
Aug 18 08:08:44 riMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (ws.agile.1PasswordAgent): This service is defined to be constantly running and is inherently inefficient.
Aug 18 08:08:44 riMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (ws.agile.1PasswordAgent): Please switch away from OnDemand to KeepAlive.
Aug 18 08:08:48 riMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (ws.agile.1PasswordAgent[498]): Could not find and/or execute program specified by service: 2: No such file or directory: /Users/[redacted]/Library/Application Support/1Password/Agent/1PasswordAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/1PasswordAgent
Aug 18 08:08:48 riMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (ws.agile.1PasswordAgent[498]): Service setup event to handle failure and will not launch until it fires. It seems to work OK though; I just get that window at inconvenient moments.

Hi @rob_gendreau,
Thanks for the additional details! The Console logs you included mention ws.agile.1PasswordAgent which is actually a left over part of 1Password 3 for Mac. I don't know for sure if that's related to the original error message you described, but if you're using 1Password 5 now, you can delete 1PasswordAgent by following these steps:
- From the Finder, go to the menu option for Go > Go to Folder...
- In the Go to the folder field that appears, copy and paste the following text and press Return:
~/Library/LaunchAgents
- Delete ws.agile.1PasswordAgent.plist
- Go back to the menu option for Go > Go to Folder…
- Copy and paste the following text and press Return:
~/Library/Application Support/1Password
- Delete the Agent folder
- Restart your Mac
If you still get the "Where is 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepas?" message, you can Repair Disk Permissions on your Mac, which was suggested in the discussion you found about a similar error. We didn't hear back from the OP in that thread so I don't know for sure if that solved the problem, but it's a good idea to try it anyway:
- Open the Disk Utility app (from Applications > Utilities)
- Select your main Macintosh HD in the left sidebar
- Click the Verify Disk Permissions button and wait for it to finish
- Then, click the Repair Disk Permissions button and let it run
- Once it has finished, reboot your Mac
Please let us know how it all goes, thanks!

Thanks. I have nothing in ~/Library/Application Support/1Password, BTW. Only in ../1Password 4.
I'd already repaired permissions, but I run that again.

Thanks @rob_gendreau, please let us know if repairing permissions makes any difference for you. If not, we'll continue from there.
