Deleting 1Password from old Mac without losing info for new Mac

I've installed 1Password on my new Mac. I'm giving my old Mac to my son and want to eliminate all the data, without impeding my use on my new Mac and other iOS devices.

You have not said what version of 1P you had on your old machine or whether you have sync'd your new and old machines via Dropbox but this knowledge base article is probably a good place to start:

Where does 1Password store its data?

If you have been syncing 1P data between the two machines by Dropbox disable sync on the old machine before you delete anything from it, of course.
