I've checked my purchases and my 1Pass was purchased from app store for my mac. Works beautifully on Mac. Why are only 6 of my 56 entries in my vault synced to my iPhone? I've searched your website and checked a few things on my iPhone, but haven't found any applicable info yet. Thanks

Just checking: Have you purchase the advanced Pro features via the in-app purchase? Doing so allows you to see all categories, whereas the free basic version shows a more limited set. According to the Pro Features FAQ, the basic version allows Creating, editing, and viewing Logins, Credit Cards, Identities, and Secure Notes

Could you be missing categories that aren't included? This is just an idea. If it doesn't apply, ignore me. ;)

    Hi @djryan,

You said you've definitely purchased the Mac App Store version of 1Password for your Mac, and that you're using iCloud sync, but according to the details in your message, you actually have the AgileBits Store version installed:

    1Password 5
    Version 5.3.2 (532001)
    Agile Web Store

iCloud sync is only available in the Mac App Store version of 1Password 5 for Mac because it uses Apple's new CloudKit technology, which can currently only be used by apps sold through Apple's App Store. If you're interested, we have more information in these knowledgebase articles:

That would definitely explain why your 1Password data is not syncing from your Mac to your iPhone. If you did indeed purchase the Mac App Store version of 1Password for Mac, you'll need to install it from there in order to use iCloud sync. Simply launch the Mac App Store and make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase 1Password, then you can reinstall it from the Purchases tab. If you need some help switching to the Mac App Store version, please take a look here: Switching to the version of 1Password from the Mac App Store

Does that help? Please let us know how it goes and if you have more questions. Thanks!

Thanks for the very helpful info. I followed instructions and discovered I have TWO 1passwords. I also have the Mac App Store version. It's the one that only has 6 entries in my vault. Unfortunately, I have 56 entries in the Agile Bits web store vault. I tried the suggested help topic "Switching to the version of 1Pass from Mac App store" and it did not transfer ANY of the 50+ entries to the Mac App version. Any suggestions? I hate to have to pay $125 an hour to get my computer guy to come fix this, so any suggestions I can try would be helpful. Thanks.

This may be helpful to whomever responds. THIS is my Mac App version. It only has 6 entries.

    Hi @djryan,

It sounds like the Mac App Store and AgileBits Store versions had previously been installed on your Mac, so they would already have established separate databases and won't automatically transfer new data from one to the other. But it's pretty easy to migrate your info to the Mac App Store version, and you can do that by following these steps:

    • Open the AgileBits Store version (1Password 5.app) and unlock with your master password (if prompted).
    • Go to File > Backup to make a fresh backup of your data (just as a precaution).
    • In the Preferences window that opens, choose the Sync tab.
    • Choose Folder from the “Sync vault with” pop-up menu (if another sync option was previously selected, click the Disable Sync button but do not choose to delete the data).
    • Click the Choose button, then select the Desktop (and click Open).
    • Click Create New (this will create a 1Password.agilekeychain file on the Desktop).
    • Hold the Control key and go to the menu for 1Password 5 > Quit 1Password and 1Password mini.

    Next:

    • Open the Mac App Store version (1Password.app) and unlock with your master password (if prompted).
    • Go to File > Backup to make a fresh backup of your data (just as a precaution).
    • In the Preferences window that opens, choose the Sync tab.
    • Change the sync option from iCloud to Folder and click the Disable Sync button (do not choose to delete the data).
    • Click the Choose button, then select the 1Password.agilekeychain file on the Desktop (and click Open).
    • Click Merge With Existing (enter your master password if prompted).
    • Assuming all goes well, once that syncs, you can switch back from Folder to iCloud sync (you'll be prompted again to merge data, which is fine).

If you now have all your data in the Mac App Store and switch back to iCloud sync, that should all sync to your iPhone. On your Mac, you can delete the AgileBits Store version of 1Password by dragging 1Password 5.app to the Trash (don't use any app cleaning utilities).

Please let us know how it goes. We're here for you if you have questions or run into problems!

Great instructions until the end. After merging, next to last step, all merged perfectly. Then after last step "switch from folder to iCloud sync, i got a message not addressed in the instructions: "Disabling Sync. 1Password will no longer sync with the folder. Should I click "disable sync" or "cancel"?

Ok, I guessed and clicked on disable sync and everything appears to have worked perfectly! Thanks for these excellent instructions. I'm really pleased with the help I've received.
