lost information from entry in 1Password

I had a lot of information regarding a website I look after including Mailchimp logins, paypal logins etc. and most of the information has just vanished. The login entry is still there but 50% of the information I had saved over several months has vanished. Why would that be?

Can I view a previous backups without restoring to 1 password so I can retrieve the info without wiping out recent entries?

I have had a suspicion that this has happened before but just put it down to not saving properly or something but this time I know it is not something I have done.

Can you advise?

    Hi @trinafurre,

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble with 1Password!

Can I view a previous backups without restoring to 1 password so I can retrieve the info without wiping out recent entries?

Unfortunately, you're not able to view backups without restoring to them. So, here's what we'll do:

    • Create a fresh backup of 1Password (File > Backup)
    • Restore to a previous backup (File > Restore Backup) that has the correct details in your item
    • Export just that item as a .1pif file and save to your Desktop (File > Export > Selected Items)
    • Restore to the brand new backup that we created in the first step
    • Import the .1pif file from your desktop (File > Import)

That should get you all sorted out - please let me know if you have any questions!

    Hi Megan,

That seemed to do the trick - thanks very much...

@trinafurre, on behalf of Megan, you're very welcome! Hopefully you won't run into an issue like that again, but if you do, please let us know and we'll be happy to look further into it. Thanks! :)
