1Password 4 for Mac vs. latest 1Password for iOS 8
I have a Macbook Pro running Mac OS X 10.8.5 and 1Password 4.4.3 with the only agilekeychain visible to Spotlight located in the Dropbox folder. I also have two iOS devices running iOS 8.4 and the current 1Password version which also use the agilekeychain in Dropbox.
Items updated on the two iOS devices are sync'ed properly between those two, but never seen on the Macbook. Items updated on the Macbook are not seen by either of the two iOS devices. When an update is made on either iOS device, a Dropbox notification of "two files updated" is received on the Macbook.
All three devices were syncing properly before the two iOS devices were upgraded to iOS 8. Upgrading the Macbook to Yosemite is not an option!
How is this possible?
How can I get all three instances of 1Password to sync properly?
NOTE: I am unable to find ANY method of getting 1Password 4 to show the location of the agilekeychain it is using! Why? How?
1Password Version: 4.4.3
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: OS X 10.8.5
Sync Type: Dropbox

Hi @plato_k,
I'm sorry Dropbox sync is giving you some trouble! Thanks for all the details you provided, it really helps us to narrow down the cause of the problem. From your description, it sounds like Dropbox sync is set up correctly in 1Password on both iOS devices, and the same Dropbox account is syncing to your Mac. That leads me to believe there's a problem with the sync settings in 1Password 4 on your Mac.
On your Mac, please open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Sync tab. What do you see there? If Dropbox sync is currently enabled, it will show a file path to your 1Password.agilekeychain file in Dropbox. (If so, what is that file path?)
Otherwise, if Dropbox sync is not currently enabled, that explains the problem. You'll need to re-enable it. To do so, select Dropbox in that window, click the button to choose a folder, then choose your 1Password.agilekeychain file in Dropbox. You may receive a message about merging your data, and as long as you're only using one vault in 1Password, that's fine (it just means it will update 1Password on your Mac with the changes from Dropbox, and vice versa).
Does that help? Let us know how it goes. If you run into any trouble while following those steps, please describe exactly what happens. Thanks!

Hello, Drew.
I had noticed that the Sync preference for Dropbox in 1Password 4 on the Macbook asked me to choose the Dropbox folder, so I guess it was not actually syncing even though the agilekeychain it was using resided in the Dropbox folder on the Macbook. Once I proceeded with selecting the agilekeychain inside Dropbox, it merged the information that the iOS devices were maintaining with that maintained by the Macbook.
The merge resulted in nearly identical items for both platforms, except that items updated yesterday on both platforms resulted in duplicate items on one platform and a single item on the other platform. The items missing from one platform before are now found on both.
It would be interesting to determine how the sync setup on the Macbook was lost, but I am afraid that is now lost to history.
Thank you for providing the solution so quickly.

Sadly you will be correct @plato_k, whatever might have caused this will be lost in the logs. At least things seem like they're resolved now but should you have any other queries or issues please don't hesitate to post
