Reverting to old login password
Last night I changed my password on a website on my iMac running OS 10.8, 1Password 4.4.3 and Chrome v44.2403.155. My password vault is in Dropbox. Just now I tried to log in to that website from my Macbook Pro running OS 10.7.5, 1Password 3.8.22 and Chrome v44.2403.157 and it tried to use the old password. It seemed the Chrome helper had not updated to the new password. So I opened 1Password on the Macbook pro and it had the correct password in the application itself, but NOT in the helper. I went back into Chrome and tried again, but no luck. THEN I went back into the application and it had been "updated" to the OLD password and had deleted the new password all together!!! WTF?? I never told it to do that. What happened and what should I do?

Hi @abernardi,
The first thing to do is look at the password history for the Login item on your iMac. Each time you change a password in a Login item (it's specific to that category) it will make a record of it. I would hope that the password history would contain the current password and allow you to regain access to your Dropbox account. Edit the item once more and correct the password using the password history.
When it comes to the extension the differences between version 3 and 4 are massive. The old 1Password 3 extension was almost a stand alone instance of 1Password and it was possible for the extension to become disconnected from the main application if anything happened to the helper app. If it is somehow reverted to the old one it sounds like the two have reconnected and unfortunately I don't know enough about the sync in 1Password 3 (the sync between the helper and extension specifically) to know if that was the cause but I have my suspicions. I'm hoping this was a freak event where it got confused and made a bad call. If you're concerned at all I would try creating a test Login item on your iMac and make sure it synchronises properly over to your MacBook Pro (in both the main app and extension). Then try changing the password and seeing if everything still correctly synchronises.
