Now I would like to get 1password running on my Wife's Mac. I have downloaded 1password to her Mac. I have read everything I can to add her Mac to my license but can't seem to make i work. I want to share 1password with her via dropbox being we use same websites etc. HOW TO DO IT? Please give me step by step instructions.

If you bought your license from AgileBits web store, you have an email message with directions for applying the license file to your copy. Forward that to your wife and have her follow the same instructions as you did.

If you bought it from the Mac App Store, licensing is tied to the AppleID you use to buy your copy. If your wife uses the same AppleID, she can download another copy while she's logged in under that AppleID. If she uses a different AppleID, you will need to set up Family Sharing with Apple and make her a member of the family group.

    Hi @sambopugmire,

I hope hawkmoth's answer was helpful! I found your license in our system by searching for the email address from your forum account (thanks for your purchase, by the way! :) ) and resent it to you. There's a link in that email you can click to apply the license file to 1Password, and you'll simply need to do that on your wife's Mac (if you don't have access to your email from her Mac, just forward the license email to her).

If necessary, you can find more information about that here: How do I add my license to 1Password?

Please let us know if you have more questions or still need help - we're here for you! :)

I purchased 1Password through Mac App Store, and installed on my first MacBook. Now, when I attempted to install 1Password in my second iMac, using the same iCloud account as the first MacBook, the download button in the App Store still show $49.99, not free. What should I do?

    Hi @jiangrongcao,

Are you logged into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy 1Password originally? If so, have you changed the country associated with the Apple ID since you made the purchase?

And, have you looked for the application in the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store?

  • Let us know if you still requires assistance @jiangrongcao or if you've managed to successfully download 1Password for Mac (Mac App Store) onto your second Mac.

Problem solved. Thanks for all the hints above.
    The cause was:
on my iMac, the iCloud ID was not consistent with App Store's ID.

  • That will certainly cause problems @jiangrongcao  I'm glad you managed to resolve it and get things working properly

If you have any other questions you know where to find us
