I cannot stop a continuous loop sync in Dropbox of the 1Password files. Searched everywhere for an answer. What do I do?

Take a look at this knowledge base article:

    Dropbox sync is not working

If nothing in it helps please tell us what version of 1P for Mac you are using.

    Hello @amanlaw,

If something has gotten tangled up inside the Agile Keychain it might be the sync loop is caused by conflicts, especially if this loop is purely only with the Agile Keychain.

The easiest way forward if this is the case would probably be to remove the potentially broken Agile Keychain and have 1Password create a new one. Now that's easy to do in 1Password 4 and 5 but if you're running 1Password 3 for Mac it's a very different matter. One we know what version you're running we can be confident we're not doing anything that would risk our data as that is the number one priority.

    Hello @amanlaw,

That's the best situation to be in

    1. On your Mac launch 1Password.
    2. Enter 1Password's preferences and switch to the Sync tab.
    3. There is a menu option currently set to Dropbox (which is what you want). I would like you to change this to None.
    4. A confirmation window will pop up. In there will be an option titled Delete data from Dropbox, please tick this checkbox and click the Disable Sync button.
    5. This will delete the Agile Keychain that we're suspecting might be broken. Give Dropbox a moment to synchronise these deletions.
    6. Still in the Sync tab, now change the menu option back to Dropbox and select the same location. This will create a brand new Agile Keychain based on your Mac vault.
    7. On your iOS device it will notify you that the syncing has been disabled. Even though you created a brand new Agile Keychain 1Password knows it isn't the same one so it airs on the side of caution. You can re-enable sync by following the steps in Sync with Dropbox again. If it talks about merging don't worry, you know this is the Agile Keychain you just created on your Mac so if there are any differences you do want to merge

Let us know how you get along and if you have any troubles at all please do let us know.
