Get "iCloud Not Available" message when in fact it is, toggling iCloud doesn't help
I recently downgraded from iOS9 and OS10.11 betas back to 8.4.1 and 10.10.5. I am now having trouble setting up iCloud Drive syncing. On my Mac with the Mac App Store app 5.3 (530029) I get "iCloud Not Available" when trying to setup the syncing, when in fact it is turned on. Retoggling iCloud Drive did not help. Similarly, when I try to sync to iCloud Drive on my iOS devices with the app pro 5.5 (August 20) I get "Failed to Fetch Record Zones". For now I am using Dropbox and that works fine but I would really like to use iCloud Drive again. WiFi syncing also works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks you.

Hi @gmbmke,
I'm sorry you're having trouble getting iCloud sync to work again after going back to Mac OS X 10.10 and iOS 8!
Currently there are a couple causes of the "Failed to fetch some record zones" error on iOS. Today there seems to be an issue with Apple's iCloud service that is causing that error for some 1Password users - however, as far as we can tell, that issue only affects iCloud sync in the iOS version of 1Password. Since you're also receiving an error when trying to use iCloud sync on your Mac, you're likely running into a different issue which our developers have been investigating. In that case, you should be able to solve it by following these steps:
- Make a backup of your 1Password data on iOS like this: https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/ (You still want to do this if you can.)
- Make a backup of your 1Password data on your Mac: File > Backup
- Remove 1Password from your iOS device.
- Reinstall 1Password on your iOS device.
- When you open it, please choose "Create New Vault".
- Enter the same Master Password as before.
- Sync this new vault to iCloud. You shouldn't get any errors.
Restore the backup from your Mac (the backup from step two) to your iOS device.
- You can find the backup on your Mac by choosing File > Restore from the menu bar in 1Password and then clicking the "Show Files" button. You want the most recently created backup. The one from step two above.
- Then restore that backup of your 1Password for Mac data as described in: https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/#restoring-manual-backups
Re-sync and it'll ask to merge the data. That's fine.
- Let it finish then you can try re-syncing your Mac to iCloud.
Please let us know how it all goes and if you have any questions. Thanks!
