Problem: I used to click on a link in 1Password, and it took me straight to the website and logged me in. Now it takes me to the website, but I have to pull in the login information again to get it to log in for me. What changed?

BTW, I'm very disappointed in having to enter a forum (that I even had to register for in order to get in) and then search through hundreds of posts wasting valuable time only to find out that I can't find the answer anyway. This makes customers feel like you want our money but don't want to be bothered with us. Please, just give us a phone number and let us verbally talk with your "customer care specialists" and let us feel like you're truly concerned with our problem. Quit hiding from your customers!

I sincerely apologize for the frustration, and that you are left feeling that we don't want to 'bother' with you! I can assure you that that is definitely not the case. Our users are the focus of everything we do here at AgileBits. We wouldn't be able to work our dream jobs without you all, and we're so grateful that you've chosen to trust 1Password with your most sensitive data. At this time, the forums are the quickest way to get in touch with the 1Password support team. We're monitoring the forums 7 days a week to ensure that your questions are answered quickly. One of the benefits of the forums is that we do have a powerful search engine - many times, you'll find that your question has already been answered before you have to type a post. I'm sorry that this didn't happen in your case, but we're happy to work through this issue with you.

I see that you're using 1Password version 4.4.3 - thanks for including that in your original post! In order to test this properly, I'd also like to know which browser you're using, and what its version number is. I'm assuming that you're using OS X 10.9.5, but if you could confirm that as well, it would be really helpful!

    Hi @KayWilliams,

Thanks so much for clarifying that! It just so happens that there is an issue with the latest version of the extension that is causing the type of behaviour that you describe in Chrome. Our developers are currently investigating where things got tangled up and looking for a fix, but unfortunately, I don't have a perfect solution for you at this time. We tested installing a previous version of the extension, one that existed prior to this regression, but it seems that Chrome gets a bit overzealous and automatically updates the extension to the latest version. So, here are your options:

    • If the 'open and fill' feature is important to you, switching to Safari as your default browser will help you keep this functionality.
    • If you prefer to stick with Chrome, you'll have to implement a two-step process: clicking the URL will open the page, and then you can use ⌘\ ( Command- \ ) to do the actual filling.

Please let me know if you have any questions, I've let our developers know that you would like to see this fixed as soon as possible.
