Change software from agilebits to app store in order to icloud sync
Hello,
I download 1password from agilebits store in my Mac and from AppStore in my iphone and realised that I can't sync across iCloud now.
How can I do to sync with iCloud? I know I must download it in my Mac using AppStore, but I have two questions:
- How can I get the license to avoid to pay again for the software?
- Must I backup the passwords before the process? How can I do this backup and restore?
Thank you very much for your time.

If you bought your license for Mac from AgileBits within the past 30 days, they will issue you a refund and you can then go to the Mac App Store and buy the software there. If you registered for the forum here with the same email address you used when you bought your license, the process should be straightforward, so long as you meet the time window. An AgileBits person will find your license and issue the refund.
If your license was purchased with a different email address, you'll need to send a message to support+licenses@agilebits.com with your request for refund. Send that fro the address you used to buy the license and include a link to this thread. You'll receive an automated reply that contains a ticket number. Post that number back here to help connect this thread with your email.
But, be sure you know that Apple doesn't provide developers anyway to issue upgrade pricing when paid upgrades come along. If you want to upgrade, you'll have to pay the same price as any other user. However, AgileBits does provide discounted upgrade licenses, so keeping that version will be cheaper over time. It's obviously your choice, and you must use the Mac App Store version if iCloud syncing is that important to you. All versions, including your iOS installations, can use Dropbox for syncing, and Dropbox does have some advantages over iCloud. For example, iCloud will not allow syncing of multiple vaults or the sharing of vaults with other users. Dropbox syncing allows both. Both sync services are equally secure, since your data are protected by your strong master password and in no way rely on where they reside for security.

Hi @utzgurx,
Hawkmoth's answer is correct - unfortunately Apple doesn't provide a way to convert a license for the AgileBits Store version of 1Password to the Mac App Store version. So if you wanted the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you would need to purchase that separately. Also, Apple does not give us the ability to do upgrade pricing on the App Store, so you would need to buy 1Password for Mac at the full price shown there.
I tried searching our system for the email address associated with your forum account, but didn't find any purchases/licenses. If you bought a license from our site within the past 30 days and would like a refund so you can buy it from the Mac App Store instead, please email us at support+licenses@agilebits.com (as hawkmoth explained) about this, and include the email address you used to buy the license from our site so we can find that in our records.
If you decide to continue using the AgileBits Store version of 1Password for Mac, Dropbox sync is also a great sync option. It's how I have always synced my 1Password data, and many of my AgileBits colleagues do as well. 1Password is secure by design and your 1Password data is end-to-end encrypted, so with regard to security there's no difference between syncing 1Password data with Dropbox or iCloud. 1Password simply doesn't depend on the security of either to protect your data. There are some other advantages to Dropbox sync as well, which Hawkmoth mentioned.
Sorry for any confusion about that, but I hope this helps to answer your questions. If you need anything else, please let us know - we're always glad to help! :)
