Vault file size in DB

A sort of follow up issue to my previous thread.

As my vault was getting bigger and bigger to to me wanting to store booking confirmation PDF's as attachments I thought why not create another vault to move past items that I want to keep but are not current into.

I created the vault, and moved a lot of items which attachments into this new vault. The new vaults filesize jumped to 5Mb but my General (default) vault file size has remained at 12.7Mb. Surely this should reduce now?

Thanks,
Neil

@rctneil: It sounds like you may need to empty your Trash! Do you have a lot of items with attachments there? What method did you use to 'move' items to the new vault? It may be that you still have them in the old one too! Please let me know what you find! :)

Awesome! I didn't realise that when you used "Share > {Vault name} > Move" that it copied it to the new vault and moved the original to trash. Seems a bit of an odd way to accomplish it but I guess it works. My vault filesize has now dropped to 7.5Mb.

    Thanks again!

Any time! I am sorry for that bit of confusion, but we prefer the "better safe than sorry" approach when it comes to destroying data. Cheers! ;)

No problem. I guess that makes sense then. Maybe a good idea to let users know that a moved item is sat in trash in a confirmation popup or something?

    Thanks again!
