running on multiple versions of OS
I need to run on Macs running 10.6.8, 10.8.5, 10.9.2, Yosemite and IOS8. I know I can get versions 3.8.22 and 4.4.3 for the non-yosemite Macs but have 2 questions:
- are there any problems I can anticipate using the versions of 1password together - synching on wifi for example? Are there workarounds?
- do I have to purchase the older versions separately? Where do I do that and what is the cost?

A single 1Password 5 licence will allow you to run 1Password on as many Macs as you own and we do supply a 1Password 3 licence on the off-chance you can't run anything newer there. So a single purchase will be all you need. To keep all of those machines in sync will mean using Dropbox as Wi-Fi Sync is only between a single Mac and one or more iOS devices. Wi-Fi Sync also drastically changed between 1Password 3 and 4/5 so that won't be much use to you here. As long as you don't mind Dropbox though you can keep all of those devices synchronised.
We do have people that still synchronise between the various versions so there shouldn't be any obvious issues specific to cross-version syncing. There are version specific issues e.g. 1Password 3 extension missing in Firefox 40 or later might be annoying on your Snow Leopard machine but shouldn't stop the various versions from syncing.

Thanks for the info - will I just need Password 3 and 5? Don't I need 4 for the 10.8 and 10.9 machines? Is that also freely available? Do the older licenses come when you download 5 or do I get them elsewhere? Dropbox should be no problem I think.

Sorry for not clarifying well enough the first time. You're correct, you can and probably want to run 1Password 4 on the middle machines. That's fine though as 1Password 5 was a free update for all 1Password 4 users so the 1Password 5 licence covers you for 1Password 4 and the email you receive from us will include a 1Password 3 licence key by default. All versions are available for download via our AgileBits Download page. Hopefully that helped fill in the gaps from my first response :smile:
