2 Macs, one has 1P 3.9.20 and the other 5.3.2, different OS 10's
My old MacBook Pro is limited to OS 10.7.5 and has 1P 3.9.2.2, and 1P will not let me check for updates. The Mac Pro has 10.10.5 and 1P 5.3.2. I purchased 1P ver 3 from AgileBits with 2 educational licenses. I have updated to 4 and 5 thru AB. However, 1P 5 says single license. Did I screw up somewhere? What should I do to upgrade the MacBook Pro to 1P 5 so it will work with Firefox 40.0.3?

Hi @Kwajmeck,
Is the main issue that 1Password 3 isn't working with Firefox 40.0.3? It sounds like there's some confusion about the versions of 1Password on each Mac and I can definitely help to clear that up for you:
My old MacBook Pro is limited to OS 10.7.5 and has 1P 3.9.2.2, and 1P will not let me check for updates.
1Password 3 won't show updates for 1Password 4 or 5 since they're completely separate apps. However, 1Password 3 is also the latest version of 1Password that will work on Mac OS X 10.7.5, so you won't be able to install 1Password 5 on your old MacBook Pro anyway (1Password 4 requires 10.8 or 10.9, and 1Password 5 requires 10.10).
1P 5 says single license. Did I screw up somewhere?
Not at all! Although it's called a "Single License", it can be shared by up to six family members living in the same household.
What should I do to upgrade the MacBook Pro to 1P 5 so it will work with Firefox 40.0.3?
As I mentioned above, you won't be able to use 1Password 5 on OS X 10.7.5. To continue using 1Password 3 with a web browser on that Mac, please take a look at the other options described here: 1Password 3 extension missing in Firefox 40 or later
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you about that, but hopefully this helps! If you have more questions or need anything else, please let us know. :)

Hi Drew_AG, thanks for the info - I understand it all, esp. the single license :) . I know that I will only be able to permanently solve the problem when we get a new MacBook Pro! I have downloaded the Firefox ESR. When I install it, will I loose any/all of the bookmarks and toolbar extensions? Will I have to do anything to get the 1P 3 extension to work other than re-booting the computer?

@Kwajmeck: I know! This solves so many problems, not least of which the "having too much money" problem.

You shouldn't have to do anything. Firefox ESR, like any other time you install Firefox, is a drop-in replacement for the app, so it uses all the same preferences and resources — including extensions. You should be all set, but don't hesitate to reach out if we can be of further assistance. We're always here to help! :)
