Trash items will not delete from vault in any OS
logins I delete/deleted from 1Password will not fully delete out of the trash. It is the same outcome regardless of OS.
when I delete items from the trash, they begin to reappear almost immediately, regardless of OS, when the empty trash command is done.
1Password Version: 4.6.0.585/5.3.2
Extension Version: 4.4.2
OS Version: Windows 7/8.1/10 OSX 10.10.5
Sync Type: Dropbox

@Darth_Snake: This is really strange, as I'm not seeing this behaviour myself — and I've got a lot of different devices using 1Password and Dropbox. If you delete the items, do you see them removed from the Dropbox website before being re-added? Check the date and time on all of your devices to make sure they match up. Dropbox may be re-syncing them over from another, thinking it's newer, if the time is set incorrectly on one or more.
If you're still having trouble, let me know the exact sequence you're taking, which 1Password and device versions you're using, and where you're trying this so we can test this thoroughly to try to shed some light on this. My Trash is just plain empty now though, so I'll have to create some more. We'll get to the bottom of this! ;)

@brenty : I have checked the time and date across all my devices and they all show the correct and matching date/time. I mostly do all my editing/adding/deleting from my work PC (windows 10). So the others should follow suit. i do see Dropbox syncing as soon as i delete the item, and i see the "# of files have been changed" pop-up on my other devices when its done. then after a few seconds they begin to re-appear in the trash. eventually the items i have deleted will add themselves back into my vault or change the username/password fields to their previous information.
i can see where Dropbox syncing could be the problem but i can't figure which device would be trying to tell Dropbox it is newer.to describe the exact sequence. I find the item in 1Password and i will delete the item. wait a few seconds for Dropbox to finish its sync to reflect the changes. then i go to the trash and tell it to empty. i will then wait again for the sync to complete. as it syncs it sometimes starts putting all the emptied trash items back into the trash or back into the logins section of 1password. i am doing this from 1 device (windows 10) and have attempted to do this from my MacBook pro but it never empties.
I am using the versions, and OS's stated in my original post. plus a windows server 2012 R2 and a iPhone 6 Plus (iOS v. 8.1.4) 1Password v. 5.5.
the windows server 2012, the windows 10, are always online and the iPhone 6 plus gets used with 1Password but not has much as the windows 10 device.0 -
Quick update.
i think the 1password on iPhone is the culprit. i got onto my server and windows 10 device. told the trash to be emptied from the server and it synced. then checked the trash on my windows 10 and it was empty as well!
i let it sit for about 10 minutes and then opened 1Password on my phone (syncing over LTE). i noticed a few, but not all, of the items i emptied were starting to re-appear.
everything is using Dropbox for syncing.
also, the iPhone app seems to say last sync "in progress" constantly.0 -
@Darth_Snake: Ouch! Sorry about that! Yeah, it definitely sounds like 1Password for iOS is causing this for some reason. Just to make sure I'm not missing something,
If you delete the items, do you see them removed from the Dropbox website before being re-added?
That may give us some indication if it's Dropbox syncing the data (because it wasn't actually deleted from the dropbox service itself) or if 1Password for iOS is re-syncing the data, at which point Dropbox is seeing this as new information.
The best thing to do would be to generate a diagnostic report for both 1Password for iOS and 1Password for Windows and send them to support+forums@agilebits.com so we can look at the logs to determine exactly what is happening. Just be sure to include a link to this forum thread and your username in the email so we can 'connect the dots'. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello,
i do see the items removed before being re-added.
it looks like the 1password (not the app store version) for Mac is my problem. i have been testing if the issue was really with iOS. i removed the vaults from my iOS devices (iPhone & iPad). when putting an item in the trash with windows, i see Dropbox sync and update files on the website. syncing with Dropbox using windows works perfectly. its only when i re-install and sync with Dropbox using the mac version that i begin to have issues. the Mac version seems to want to update and say that it is the most recent version, although the time and date are the same and i have it on the same network as my windows work laptop.
i will get the app re-installed for mac and generate a report for you guys to look at.Thanks
