"1Passwordanywhere" on PC when trying to sync with Dropbox between Mac and PC
New user, changing from LastPass. I purchased a bundle to use Mac and Windows. I am new to 1Password, to my Mac and to Dropbox so this is ALL very challenging. I believe I have created my Vault and set up Dropbox to sync with my husband's Windows PC, however when I opined on his Windows 10 PC it opens as "1Passwordanywhere" and does not allow for clicking on a site, opening and logging in to saved sites as it does on the Vault I am attempting to share from my Mac. I don't want to use 1Passwordanywhere, i'd like to use the full version I paid for but do not know how to set it up.
Please help!
1Password Version: 5.3.2 (532001)
Extension Version: 4.4.3
OS Version: OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
Sync Type: Dropbox

@ELLENP: Sorry for the confusion! While you're free to use 1PasswordAnywhere for, well...free, 1Password is licensed per-platform; 1Password for Windows is a separate app and therefore a separate purchase from 1Password for Mac.
Now, you may have already purchased the Mac + Windows bundle, but I wasn't able to find any records under your email address, so I have no way of knowing if this is the case.
Regardless, you can still install 1Password for Windows on your husband's PC. It will simply be in trial mode unless or until you purchase a license and register the app. The trial is fully functional for 30 days. Otherwise, 1PasswordAnywhere is simply part of your vault, and you can access it through the Dropbox website without making a purchase.
If you have any questions or issues with your license(s), just email us at support+licenses@agilebits.com and we'll help you get things sorted out. Cheers! :)

Thank you for your quick reply. I did purchase the bundle ($69.99) thus the license so I am understanding I will download to the PC and enter license next? Will I still need to sync with Dropbox or just sign in on the PC? How do I delete the "anywhere" file?
And can you please explain how I then set up on 2 iPhones and an iPad?

@ELLENP: Exactly! Your license email will contain your license key and a link to download the app, so you should be all set there.

Yes. In order to sync with the rest of your devices, you'll need to install Dropbox on the PC and set up 1Password to use the vault stored there. No need to delete
1Password.html
. In fact, please don't. It's part of your vault! And it can be handy to access your data through the Dropbox site from another computer if needed. And can you please explain how I then set up on 2 iPhones and an iPad?
There are guides for setting up Dropbox Sync on all platforms which I linked above, but if you're setting up 1Password for iOS for the first time, all you need to do is choose Sync Existing Vault and select Dropbox.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)

I am still struggling with this. I'm working on installing Dropbox on Mac and Windows. I don't understand the last paragraph about iPhone and iPad. Do I install Dropbox on those?

Where is the link for setting up Dropbox sync please?

Hi @ELLENP,
I'm sorry to hear you're still struggling with this - we'll work with you until it's all sorted out, don't worry!
I don't understand the last paragraph about iPhone and iPad. Do I install Dropbox on those?
Brenty's last post included a link to our User Guide and how to get set up with 1Password for iOS. Those instructions should walk you through the process. Could you tell me which step you're getting tangled up on?
Do I install Dropbox on those?
If you don't have the Dropbox app installed on your iOS devices, 1Password should direct you to the Dropbox website to sign into your account so that it can access your 1Password data. Installing the Dropbox app will also work though.

I'm still stuck on sync with Dropbox between Mac and Windows. I have loaded 1password (with licenses) and Dropbox on both Mac and PC computers.
I have selected sync Primary (only) Vault with Dropbox in 1Password on my Mac. The path below the Sync selection says: my name, then Drop Box, then 1Password, then 1Password.agilekeychain. It says last synced 2 min ago. When I go to my husband's windows PC I can go to 1Password and get a list of logins but cannot click on links to open with passwords and usernames.
If I go to his Dropbox and click the FOLDER icon I get message: java script alert - problem occurred....AND Problem Loading 1Password Data file - a key data file could not be loaded and 1PasswordANYWHERE cannot continue without it. There is a data file there listed as default but nothing that opens or logs in anywhere.
If I go to his Dropbox and click on GLOBE icon I can eventually get to a 1password vault but it is labeled 1passwordANYWHERE and is not what could have been synced 2 min ago, has a previous day's date.
THIS IS NOT SIMPLE- I don't think I'm stupid but the instructions and process are not clear cut. I even watched a 1/2 hr you tube on this and am still stuck!!0 -

Hi @ELLENP,
I think I can help to clear up the confusion here:
If I go to his Dropbox and click the FOLDER icon I get message: java script alert - problem occurred....AND Problem Loading 1Password Data file - a key data file could not be loaded and 1PasswordANYWHERE cannot continue without it. There is a data file there listed as default but nothing that opens or logs in anywhere.
It sounds like you're going to the Dropbox folder on your husband's Windows PC, and trying to open the 1Password.agilekeychain file/folder from there. That won't work - instead, you'll need to open the 1Password program that you've installed on that computer. The 1Password program reads the data stored in the 1Password.agilekeychain vault in Dropbox. When you open 1Password, are you able to unlock the vault with your master password and see the same items that are in 1Password on your Mac? If not, what do you see when you open 1Password for Windows?
If I go to his Dropbox and click on GLOBE icon I can eventually get to a 1password vault but it is labeled 1passwordANYWHERE and is not what could have been synced 2 min ago, has a previous day's date.
I'm not sure exactly what steps you're taking, but it sounds like you might be looking at the date of the 1Password.agilekeychain folder on Windows. If so, don't worry too much about that date - your AgileKeychain is actually a package file / bundle which is made up of hundreds of smaller files. The modified date for the AgileKeychain does not necessarily reflect changes made to the contents inside the package. Also, the time 1Password last synced is not the same as the modified date of the AgileKeychain.
When I go to my husband's windows PC I can go to 1Password and get a list of logins but cannot click on links to open with passwords and usernames.
If I understand, it sounds like you can open the 1Password program on Windows and see all the data that you synced from your Mac (via Dropbox sync). Is that correct? If so, what are you trying to do at that point? If you want to have 1Password fill your usernames/passwords on websites, you'll need to install the 1Password extension in your web browser. We have steps to do that here: Setting up browsers
Once you've installed the 1Password extension in the browser on Windows, there are a couple different ways to fill your Logins on websites. To do that from the 1Password extension in your browser, follow the steps here: Using a saved Login
Or if you want to open and fill your Logins directly from the main 1Password program, you can follow the steps here: Using Logins in the main program
Please repost the link you indicated that Brenty posted also
Do you mean the link from Brenty with instructions to set up 1Password on your iPhone and iPad? If so, you can find that by scrolling up to his message from yesterday, or click on this link to jump straight to it. Here's the part of his message that included the link:
...if you're setting up 1Password for iOS for the first time, all you need to do is choose Sync Existing Vault and select Dropbox.
Just click on the link in that sentence to open those instructions in our user guide.
Does this help at all? I hope my information helps to clear up some confusion. If you're still having trouble using 1Password for Windows, please let us know exactly what you're trying to do, and the steps you're taking to do it. Thanks! :)

Ok, I got 1P to work on windows after installing extension for google and IE, but get a message that it is not compatible with Firefox 39.0. Suggestions?
And I'm still unclear about installing 1P on iPhones and iPad. Do I download app from App Store or is it on Agilebits site? And do I also install Dropbox on each device?

@ELLENP: I'm glad to hear that 1Password for Windows is working for you. Great questions! Here are some (hopefully!) great answers:
- Download 1Password for iOS from the App Store. Apple doesn't allow iOS apps to be installed from other sources, so it won't be available from our website directly.
- It isn't necessary to install the Dropbox iOS app just to use Dropbox to sync your 1Password data. But of course it's perfectly fine to instal it if you'd like to use it for other things!
- Install the latest version of Firefox. You seem to be using an old version.
- Install the latest 1Password extension in Firefox, which has been updated to work with the newest Firefox releases.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)
