I bought 1Password from the App Store on my work computer. Download it at home, got to buy again
Bought it thru iTunes at work, tried to install it on my home desktop Mac and it says I've got to buy it again. How do I work around that?

Hey @MacNathan!
Can I ask, do you use a different Apple ID at work than you do at home? Applications purchased from the Mac App Store are tied to an Apple ID, so you need to be signed into the Mac App Store on both Macs with the same Apple ID to download it again at no extra charge.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I'm using the same AppleID. When I signed into iTunes with my iPhone and my iPad, I had no problem downloading and installing. When I tried to install it on my iMac at home, it shows the icon with a $34.99 price tag. Do I need to delete 1Password4 first?

Hi @MacNathan,
I think I can help to clear up some confusion about this:
When I signed into iTunes with my iPhone and my iPad, I had no problem downloading and installing.
1Password is a separate purchase for each platform, so the Mac and iOS versions are sold separately. Having said that, 1Password 5 for iOS is a free download, and offers free basic features - so regardless of whether you bought the Mac version, you would not have had to pay anything to download the iOS version on your iPhone and iPad. You can choose to buy the Pro Features in 1Password 5 for iOS with an in-app purchase, but that only unlocks features for the iOS version, and has nothing to do with the Mac version of 1Password.
When I tried to install it on my iMac at home, it shows the icon with a $34.99 price tag.
So, the important questions here are: Did you purchase the Mac version or the iOS version of 1Password? And, where did you make that purchase?
In your original message, you said you made your purchase through iTunes. However, the Mac version of 1Password is not sold through iTunes. If you opened the iTunes app on your Mac and went to the iTunes Store section there, you would only have found 1Password 5 for iOS (and as I mentioned above, it's free to download that app). That's the same app you would find in the App Store app on your iPhone or iPad (which only sells iOS apps).
The Mac version of 1Password is sold from the AgileBits Store or the Mac App Store (which is the app on your Mac that is also called "App Store", but only sells Mac apps). According to your original message, you have version 5.3.2 of 1Password on your Mac, which is the current AgileBits Store version (the current Mac App Store version is 5.3). Licensing works differently in the AgileBits Store and Mac App Store versions, so if you bought 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store, you'll also need to install it from the Mac App Store on your Mac.
Similarly, if you bought a license for 1Password 5 for Mac from the AgileBits Store, you'll need to download 1Password from our download site and activate it with the license file you received when you made your purchase.
On the other hand, if you haven't previously purchased the Mac version from either the AgileBits Store or the Mac App Store, that certainly explains why you're being asked to purchase it. It can be a bit confusing, but I hope this helps. If not, please let us know!
