New Version for El Capitan (OS X 10.11) ?
Hello,
i am using 1Password 3, because i still use OS X 10.9 - and 1Password 4 doesn't run on 10.9.
So i cannot use iPassword 4 on my iPhone6 :-(
Will this happen with 10.11 again? Will there be an upgrade that makes it fully compatible to 10.11 and that will not work with 10.10?
Will there be an upgrade of the iOS-Version to support iOS9 that cannot sync with a 10.10 Mac OS Version?

Hi @Geegah,
Thanks for taking the time to ask us about that! I think there might be a little confusion on a couple things, so let's start by getting that cleared up:
i am using 1Password 3, because i still use OS X 10.9 - and 1Password 4 doesn't run on 10.9.
Actually, 1Password 4 for Mac supports Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) as well as 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Are you perhaps thinking of 1Password 5 for Mac, which requires Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)? 1Password 5 will not run on 10.9 or lower, but 1Password 4 definitely will.
So i cannot use iPassword 4 on my iPhone6 :-(
I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. Are you currently using any version of 1Password on your iPhone 6? If so, what version are you using? 1Password 5 for iOS supports iOS 8, which is what currently comes on an iPhone 6. So there's no need to use 1Password 4 on your iPhone at all.
Will this happen with 10.11 again? Will there be an upgrade that makes it fully compatible to 10.11 and that will not work with 10.10?
It sounds like you're referring to 1Password 5 for Mac, which requires Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite). However, 1Password 4 for Mac is still available for customers who prefer to continue using OS X 10.8 or 10.9. In fact, 1Password 5 was a free upgrade from 1Password 4. If you upgrade to 1Password 5 for Mac, the same license will work with 1Password 4 for Mac.
We have lots of customers (and some AgileBits team members) who are using 1Password 5 for Mac on the betas of Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan). We don't discuss future plans before we've made any official announcements, but even if we release a new version of 1Password for Mac, and even if it requires OS X 10.11, and even if it's a paid upgrade, you can still use 1Password 5 on 10.10, and as far as I know, it should also work on 10.11.
Will there be an upgrade of the iOS-Version to support iOS9 that cannot sync with a 10.10 Mac OS Version?
Again, we don't typically discuss future plans, but if we release a new version of 1Password for iOS, I don't know why that would cause any sync issues with 1Password 5 for Mac.
I feel like I may have misunderstood your questions a bit, and if so, please do let us know. Thanks! :)

Thank you for your detailed answer.
You are right, i messed up version numbers.
I just purchased 1Password5 on my second Mac running 10.10 via AppStore and so i was able to load 1Password4 on my main Mac with 10.9. Now i can sync via WiFi between 10.9 and my iPhone and use Touch ID! Thank you!
One more question:
is it possible to sync my keychain between two Macs (10.9 and 10.10), an iPhone and an iPad ?Geegah

Hi @Geegah,

You're very welcome! I'm glad to hear that's all straightened out now. Version numbers and system requirements can certainly become a bit confusing sometimes, but we're always happy to clear things up! :)
is it possible to sync my keychain between two Macs (10.9 and 10.10), an iPhone and an iPad ?
Yes, absolutely! With your setup, the best option for syncing 1Password between your Macs and iOS devices would be to use Dropbox sync. Once you have that setup, changes to your 1Password data will sync automatically between both Macs, your iPhone, and your iPad.
Another option would be to continue syncing your iOS devices with one Mac via Wi-Fi sync, and keep the Macs in sync with each other using the Folder sync option with another sync solution.
I hope that helps, but if you have more questions about that, we're here for you! :)
