Don't remember the secondary vault password. Now what?
I can't change the password since it's tied to the primary vault. I still have access to secondary vault on my Mac, When I'm trying to add the secondary vault to my iPad, it's asking for a password. Any clue on what to do about this?

Hi @ziggie216,
I'm sorry you forgot the master password to your secondary vault!
When you created the secondary vault, you would have chosen a master password (and hint) for that vault. When you unlock the Primary vault, that unlocks your secondary vault(s) as well, for your convenience. Unfortunately, that can also make it easy to forget the master password you chose for your secondary vault.
Maybe the hint you chose for your secondary vault will remind you what its master password is? To see the hint you set up for your secondary vault, open 1Password on your Mac, make sure it's locked, then switch to the secondary vault from the 1Password > Switch to Vault menu option. Try entering a wrong master password for the secondary vault a couple times, and it will show the hint.
If that doesn't help, and you can't figure out/remember your master password for the secondary vault, you can create another secondary vault and copy all your items from the original secondary vault to the new secondary vault:
- In 1Password, switch to your Primary vault.
- Go to the menu for 1Password > New Vault... and follow the steps to create a new vault (make sure to choose a master password you'll remember). Please note, you won't be able to use the exact same vault name as the original secondary vault.
- After creating the new vault, switch to the original secondary vault.
- Select All Items in the left sidebar.
- Select any item in the item list and then use
⌘A
to select every item in this vault. - Go to the menu for Item > Share > [vault name] > Copy (make sure you choose the new vault you just created).
Once all your items are in the new secondary vault, you can delete the old one if you want. You can also delete the .agilekeychain for the old secondary vault from Dropbox. When you enable Dropbox sync for the new secondary vault, a new .agilekeychain will be created, and you should be able to sync that to your iPad.
If you need more help with that or have any questions, please let us know - we're here for you! :)
