Hello,

I downloaded 1password on a new Macbook pro. Im having problems trying to restore 1password from a previous back up file. The software is not recognizing the zip file i exported from my other computer.

See here: http://prntscr.com/8f57e5

If i unzip the file, the software is not recognizing the .1pif file.

See here: http://prntscr.com/8f58fo

Thanks

    Hi @whatsupmike,

I'm sorry you're having some trouble getting your data into 1Password on a new Mac! Thank you for the screenshots, they're really helpful.

It looks like you have a zip file containing a .1pif file, which is not the same as a 1Password backup file, and that's why the Restore option won't allow you to choose it. A .1pif file is created by using the Export option in 1Password, so you'll need to use the Import option to get your data from the .1pif into 1Password.

To do that, you'll first need to set up 1Password as a new user (if you haven't already done so). When you do that, you'll end up with a new, empty vault in 1Password. Then simply go to File > Import... and choose your .1pif folder in the Import window. Make sure "1Password Interchange File (.1pif)" is selected as the File Format, and click Open (if the 'Open' button doesn't work, hit Return or Enter on your keyboard instead).

Once you're done with the .1pif file/folder, you'll want to make sure you delete it, because it's an unencrypted copy of your data.

Hopefully this helps, but please let us know if you have any trouble with that, or if you have more questions. Thanks!
