Price for multiple devices

I have a number of different devices: a Mac OS X Yosemite machine at work, a Windows 10 machine at home, an iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and a Nexus 5 that I all use on and off. If I buy the "1Password Mac + Windows Bundle", will that cover all my devices? I'm just trying to avoid surprises like in-app purchases down the line. Thanks

    Hi @Wiplash,

I'm happy to hear you're considering purchasing 1Password for your computers and devices! :)

So, it sounds like you want to use 1Password on four different platforms - Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. 1Password is sold separately for each platform, so the "1Password Mac + Windows Bundle" will cover your Macs and Windows PCs, but not your iOS or Android devices. You can find more information about how 1Password is licensed here: What licenses do I need to use 1Password on all my devices?

The iOS and Android versions of 1Password work a bit differently as far as licensing/purchasing goes:

1Password 5 for iOS is a free download, and offers free basic features. If you would like to unlock the Pro Features in 1Password 5 for iOS, you can do so with an in-app purchase. We have more information about that here: Pro Features FAQ (iOS)

1Password for Android can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for free, and will be fully functional / unrestricted for 30 days. After that, its Reader functionality will remain free, and if you want to unlock the premium features, you can do that with an in-app purchase. We have more information here: Premium features FAQ (Android)

Hopefully this helps, but please let us know if you have more questions about that. Thanks! :)

Thanks for clarifying Drew. From my point of view that becomes an added cost. If I understand the system correctly, password managers create and store more secure passwords for sites, e.g. passwords that you could not remember (rightfully so) yourself. As a result, I'd need to use the apps across all platforms. I know I'm just one user, but from my point of view I'd prefer a centralised license which I can use on any OS I wish. Just my 2p worth. Thanks again for the quick reply.

    Hi @Wiplash,

You're very welcome, and thanks for the feedback! As far as being an "added cost", I'm assuming you are referring to the cost of the in-app purchases for the iOS and Android versions of 1Password. If so, keep in mind that you don't necessarily need to purchase Pro Features in 1Password 5 for iOS, or Premium Features in 1Password for Android. You can use those apps for free and still have all your passwords and other data on your iOS and Android devices. You would only need to purchase Pro/Premium Features if you need to use those features.

As for a "centralised license", that's not something we're able to offer because the in-app purchases for the iOS and Android versions are made through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, so we can't bundle those with the Mac and Windows licenses in our AgileBits Store. Likewise, we can't bundle licenses for all platforms with the in-app purchases on iOS or Android. So the only two licenses we're able to combine into a single purchase are for the Mac and Windows versions of 1Password.

We definitely do appreciate your feedback about that though, and if there's something we can do to make it all easier in the future, I'm sure we'll consider it. If you need anything else, we're here for you! :)
