Dark Theme
I think many of us have wanted a dark theme for some time with 1Password. I have 5 monitors and 1PW lives up and in front all the time for me due to my needing to grab passwords, notes, etc. constantly. Can we please get some love as far as this goes? It's something I've been asking for for years and I just cannot tolerate this white blaring interface any longer.

We do hear this occasionally from other customers, so there are definitely others who would also like to have a dark theme for the main app. Although I can't promise anything, I'll certainly add your comments to our internal tracker to let our developers know you'd also like that.

:'( Cookie cutter answers like that really break my heart. This is something really important to folks like me who are pro users who do a lot of work in dark studios or at night.

I'm sorry @ylluminate, we're just unable to promise anything. We note all user requests, ensure there is a record to give us an idea of what is popular and what isn't and try to assist the developers in determining what is bothering our users. After that the decision of what is to be focussed on is in the hands of others and even then, we're not allowed to say X is being worked on, it's going to definitely happen. We've been bitten in the past and disappointed users who thought a certain feature was a lock-in and then circumstances resulted in it's removal.
As you can imagine we get a lot of requests. I fully understand that this is important to you but it's also not one of the popular requests based on the activity of that feature request. As I'm sure you can understand developer time is a finite resource and every request has to be judged on a number of merits; what does it add to 1Password, how long to develop and how many users benefit? I'm not saying no, just that we can't say "yes, it will happen".

You're preaching to the choir, but I used to talk to Dave about this in v 1 when I was beta testing. One just get's tired after so many years of asking. I'm an old hat here and developer myself, but you can understand my position on this after asking for so long.

I'm sorry if my previous response sounded cookie cutter-ish to you! I promise you I wrote it from scratch, I didn't use copy/paste or any pastry shaping tools at all. ;) However, I reply to a lot of feature requests every day, so I'm sure some of those end up sounding very similar.
I'd really love to be able to tell you we're definitely adding a dark theme to the main app, but I would be lying if I said that because I honestly don't know. Similarly, I'd be lying if I said we'll never add that. It's simply not something that's been decided one way or another. We have an open feature request for this in our internal tracker, and we add customer feedback to that when we hear new requests for the same thing. Our developers are aware that there are customers who would like a dark theme for the main app, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will ever happen (and it doesn't necessarily mean it won't).
I know it can be really frustrating to ask for the same feature for such a long time and still not see it added. We receive a lot of different feature requests from customers every day, and those features are all really important to the people who request them. And even though we truly want to make our customers happy, the reality is that we can't add all of the features they ask for, even if they've been asking for years. :(
I'm sorry this isn't what you want to hear from us, and I don't expect that anything I've just written will make you feel differently about the situation. But please know that when we say we appreciate hearing requests & feedback from our customers, we really do mean it! Most features we add are based on what we hear from customers. So please don't hesitate to let us know if you have more! :)
