Password Generation
I must be doing something wrong. It seems like the auto generation for passwords is a good idea. They are far more random than anything I can come up with, and equally impossible to remember without the help of 1P.
I've tried to use it 3 times, and only once successfully. 1P will generate the password, and I say copy to clipboard before fill. I have the clear clipboard set to 300 seconds.
When I press fill, it happily fills in the password and confirm passwords on the site in question, but fails to update the password in 1P, and the password is not saved to the clip board, forcing me to have to go through the password recovery process again an then entering an old, crappy password.
What's the magic sequence I'm supposed to be using? Where I'm attempting to use it is with my most precious sites like credit cards and financial institutions.
Thanks for any advice you can share!

Hi @tempeCarlson,
Sorry for the trouble here! I think this handy guide will help you:
How to change a password for a site saved in 1Password
(AKA the magic sequence :))
I think you'll also find our built-in safety net features quite beneficial as well: 1Password automatically saves a new Password item for any generated password that you copy or fill from the Password Generator that doesn't become a Login item, precisely so that you are not forced to do that clumsy password recovery dance on every website.
And because you mentioned financial institutions, I'd also like to share with you this guide, which often applies to bank websites:
Using 1Password with login sequences split across multiple pages
Let us know if you have any further questions that aren't answered in these articles. We're happy to help!

Yes, I found the safety net saved password. That did help. On the two sites I had problems with, the scenario described in "How to change a password..." didn't occur. 1P did not ask me if I wanted to update the password, hence being stuck until I found the backups it had stored.
Am I doing something wrong when I fill update the password, that 1P doesn't ask whether I want to update the password?

Hi @tempeCarlson,
I just saw your comment on the other thread about this. @Drew_AG mentioned in that thread that this may be related to a known issue, so I did some research and I think I may have found the issue he was referring to in our internal tracker. You said that you were able to save the new login once out of the three times you tried; would you mind giving us the URLs for the website(s) where you're seeing this problem? Thanks!

Hi Vee,
I looked for a way to message you on the forum, but didn't spot it. I'd rather not leave the sites in public, but will share them with you or your team via private message (need to know how).
Thx!

Hi @tempeCarlson,
I've moved your post from the other thread to this one so the conversation is easier to follow.
If you don't feel comfortable posting the URLs here please feel free to email us at support+forum@agilebits.com and if you could provide a link back to this thread it will allow the person who first sees your email to connect the dots so to speak. To complete the circle if you were to post the ticket ID here it would allow us to find your email too
