Original laptop was taken back (eek). And then wiped (awww)! I have Time Machine back up drive. I've installed Password 5 on new laptop, but how do I get my "files" from the password installation on my Time Machine drive? BTW, did not do a time machine restore - with different company. I'm not sure what version of password was on the original laptop. Please help!!

  • Hello @wdjones2,

I can't say I've done this with Time Machine but it's meant to be possible. Here's a link to steps somebody posted in Apple's forums. This should allow you to recover specific files from Time Machine. What I can do to help is let you know that the folder you want to recover is ~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/ where ~ in OS X resolves to your user folder. So if my user account is called LittleBobbyTables then ~ translates to /Users/LittleBobbyTables/. That path will work as long as you were running our AgileBits Store version of 1Password and is applicable for both 1Password 4 & 5.

    Just in case.

    • 1Password 3 for Mac stores its files in ~/Library/Application Support/1Password/
    • 1Password 4/5 for Mac (Mac App Store) stores its files in ~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/

If you have any trouble please do let us know what you found and we can help get everything resolved. If your 1Password vault is in your Time Machine backup it will be in one of those locations.
