I cannot install the Free Trial version of 1Password 5 on my Mac, running OS X 10.10.5.

I have downloaded the Free Trial version. Every time I try to install it, I get the message that "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini." I have followed all the steps in the Support section, removing all trace of 1Password, re-starting the Mac, re-downloading, turning off Time Machine, and every time I get exactly the same. I have gone into Finder, and deleted anything that relates to 1Password, so am sure there are no conflicting versions or files.

I am reluctant to pay for the version from the AppStore, in case I have similar problems of installation. However, having had a catastrophic data loss using SplashID (and a complete lack of support from them), I am looking for a new password managed.

  • Hi @pmheywood,

I think the quickest route to the solution would be via a diagnostic report. This guide will assist.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums

The email address you will want to use is support+forum@agilebits.com.

When sending the diagnostic report to the address above it would help immensely if you could include a link to this thread and your forum handle so we can connect the two.

Once you've sent the report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. With access to the report we should be able to better assist you

  • @pmheywood - Thanks, we have received your diagnostics report and will reply back via email.

    Hi @pmheywood,

Sounds good. We'll get back to you shortly. I'm going to go ahead and close this thread now to avoid any confusion that may stem from communicating about one issue in two different places, but we'll be sure to keep the email conversation going until we reach a solution for you. Cheers! :)
