You don't. Something has gone wrong, perhaps trying to get 1PW from two different places.

Basically, 1PW is sold per platform. So a single purchase of 1PW for Mac would let you use it on all your Macs. It would not cover 1PW on Windows (a separate purchase, though there is a bundle) or on an iPhone or iPad (free, but with an in-app purchase providing extra features).

Was your purchase from the Mac App Store or direct from AgileBits? If from the App Store, you just need to use the same Apple ID to get it. If you bought direct from AgileBits then you need to apply the license that was sent to you in an email (a clickable link in the email).

Give us more details of what you bought, and what is going wrong, and we will get things sorted for you.

  • Hi @Peter_Steinbrick,

I checked the email address you're using here in the forums but I couldn't fine a purchase associated with it. That doesn't mean an awful lot though as you may have purchased from us using a different email address or you may have purchased from Apple's Mac App Store. Apple don't pass on any details of their customers that purchase 1Password for Mac from the Mac App Store. The result is you don't have a licence from us but that's okay because the purchase is tied to your Apple ID. That's why it's important to download 1Password from the correct location. If you purchase from us you download from our AgileBits Download page, if you purchase via the Mac App Store then you need to download it via the Mac App Store.

Does this and what danco posted help at all in understanding what might have happened?
