    Hi @tranff,

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee on purchases from our AgileBits Store, so if you bought 1Password for Mac from us in the last 30 days, we'll gladly refund that purchase so you can buy 1Password from the Mac App Store.

I searched our sales records for transactions registered to your forum email address, but I wasn't able to find any, so you must have used a different email address. If you made the purchase within 30 days, please forward us your receipt in an email to support+licenses@agilebits.com and include a link to this forum thread, and we'll take care of you! :)

    Hi Vee,

    Thanks for your swift reply.

Unfortunately I bought it in a bundle more than one year ago.

... and about 50 Euros is a lot to spend again on the Apple Store.

Do you have any other option?

    Thanks from Germany
    Tobias

    Hey @tranff,

I see; thank you for that extra information.

You do have another option for cloud sync: Dropbox is an excellent choice. It's how I have always synced my 1Password data and still do. 1Password is secure by design and your 1Password data is end-to-end encrypted by your Master Password so, with regard to security, there's no difference between syncing 1Password data with Dropbox or iCloud. 1Password simply doesn't depend on the security of either to protect your data.

Dropbox also has the advantage that it can be used to sync multiple vaults and also share vaults with friends, family, and co-workers. It's not currently possible to share anything between iCloud accounts, or to sync more than one vault over iCloud.

    Vee,

your proposal is a nice one, but I don't use Dropbox, at least until now.

I would prefer only iCloud to exchange 1Password data between my Apple devices ... not to use a third party, even though it might be safe ...

    Any other proposal, please?

    Hi @tranff,

iCloud is as much a third party to your 1Password data as Dropbox is, and both options securely store a copy of your data in the cloud. They're really quite comparable.

But as you've discovered, iCloud sync requires the Mac App Store version due to Apple's sandboxing regulations, and at this time, Apple does not provide a way for us to transfer your license to their store, so the only way to use iCloud sync is to buy that version.

If you're syncing between just one desktop Mac and one or more mobile devices, you may also consider Wi-Fi sync.
