lost 1password

iMac with Yosemite 10.10.5 was having the spinning wheel of death. Apple Retail store reformatted hard drive and said they were transferring all files over. They worked so fast I couldn't determine actual transfer till I got home. Alas many things weren't transferred but most devasting was I have no 1password. I'm somewhat savy but when reading other posts to forum am completely lost. All my devices on IOS 8.4 nothing is transferring within the devices. I have one password working on the devices but no updates. Don't know where to begin. Will contact Apple with regards to the other non-transferred data. Have 1 password 5.5 on devices. Should I download the 1password App to the computer for starters??

@lor: Definitely download the 1Password app, but your chief concern should be your vault. Do you have it sync'd or backed up somewhere else? If not, you may need to start over, but I'm hoping that's not the case. However, AgileBits has neither your 1Password data nor the Master Password used to secure it, so this isn't something we can 'recover' for you. Please let me know what you find. I look forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks. I'm up and running but do not understand the particulars as I should. I purchased direct from Agilebits which has caused me confusion in the backup process and I do not understand the working of "Vault". At this moment I have 1Password on iPhone 6, ipad2, & iMac. My iPhone 5s does not have and do not know how to download to that phone (it's a new replacement from Apple). How do I create another backup that is independent of the devices and iMac.

    Hi @lor,

I hope this means you were able to locate your saved logins and everything, if that was indeed what you had lost.

Wi-Fi sync starts on the Mac. Follow these instructions on your iMac, and then these instructions on the iPhone.

Let us know how that works for you, or if you have any further questions we can assist with. We're happy to help!

    Hi @lor,

On behalf of Vee, you're very welcome! I'm happy to hear that worked for you! :)

We don't really have video tutorials, but we definitely have some great User Guides and knowledgebase articles that should be very helpful for you. You can find our main support site here: https://support.1password.com/

To learn the basics on how to use 1Password for Mac and iOS, you should definitely check out their user guides, which you'll see listed under the second section of the support site, where it says "Read the user guides..." You can also use the search field at the top of the support site, and it will show matching results from both the user guides and knowledgebase articles.

And of course, if you have more questions, you can always ask us - we're happy to help! :)
