1Password 5.3: No Update Option in Preferences

I am working in 1Password 5.3 from the Mac App Store, but I find no Update option in Preferences. How do I check my version against what is current and what, if any, update is appropriate?

Hi @heathlynn. :) Mac App Store apps should update automatically, so you're using the latest version available through the Mac App Store (5.3). However, if you're ever unsure about whether you're up-to-date, you can update the Mac App Store version of 1Password by logging into the App Store with your Apple ID, and then clicking on the Updates tab. Any available updates will be listed there.

Hi. I guess I would like a clarification. Are update available through AgileBits before they are available through the App Store? I received a notice through Download.com that a newer version is available, but I find no update in the App Store, where I usually do my updates on 1Password. Thank you!!!

Hi @heathlynn,

1Password 5.3 is the latest version of our Mac app. Perhaps the notice from Download.com was for our iOS app, which we did release an update for yesterday.

To answer your other question, we generally release our updates the same day to both the Mac App Store and our own AgileBits Store. However, the Mac App Store has its own approval process, so sometimes there is a short delay there.
