Made in-app purchase for $10..

I had no idea this app cost $50? I paid $10 thinking I'd be able to license my desktop version and sync the two. Is there anyway to cancel my in-app purchse? The software is great - but I can just remember my passwords instead of shelling out $50.

Thanks in advance.

You'll have to take up your request for a refund for the in-app purchase of 1Password for iOS's Pro features with Apple. Only they control their App Stores. AgileBits won't even have any record of who has made such purchases.

Hello Kaatmaca. It seems as if you are confused with regards to what you must pay to license each platform. It could simply direct you to a support page but allow me to attempt to simplify it more for you. To answer your initial question, the US$9.99 in-app purchase [iOS I assume based on the terminology you used] pertains only to the ‘Pro features’ in the iOS app – which are I highly recommend if you are a regular / everyday user of the iOS app. If not already I suggest you try it for at least a week.

In-app purchases are NOT handled by AgileBits; they are handled by Apple as all app store purchases are. Unfortunately, to my knowledge a refund of an in-app purchase is not possible. To answer your second question:
    ⁍ 1Password for Mac single license: US$49.99
    ⁍ 1Password for Windows single license: US$49.99
⁍ 1Password for Mac and Windows bundle single license: US$69.99 – save US$20
If you do not use Windows you need not spend the additional US$20 to purchase the bundle. 1Password is also available on the Mac app store for US$49.99 precluding sales tax specific to your location. If you do not need or want iCloud synchronisation capabilities I recommend to purchase directly from the AgileBits store to circumvent any sales tax that will incur otherwise.

I hope that adequately answers your questions. If any of the above is not sufficiently clear simply reply and somebody will do their best to rectify that.

    Hi @kaatmaca,

I'm sorry for any confusion about all that! As @Mystery_Man explained, 1Password is a separate purchase for each platform. So while purchasing the Pro Features in 1Password for iOS allows you to activate them in 1Password on all your iOS devices associated with your Apple ID, that can only unlock features for the iOS app, and does not give you a license for the Mac version. We have more information on how 1Password licensing works here: What licenses do I need to use 1Password on all my devices?

1Password for Mac is available as a free trial from our download site, so you can try that first before deciding if you want to purchase a license or not. After the 30 day trial, there will be some restrictions if you haven't purchased a license. If you've already added 20 or more items (Logins, Secure Notes, etc.) to 1Password, you will not be able to add more directly on the Mac - but you'll still be able to look up / view / use any items you've already created. Any data you've added to 1Password will remain safe and accessible, even after the end of the trial. At that point, if you choose to purchase a license, you can continue using the app without restriction and will not need to re-enter any of your data.

Now, if you decide you don't want to purchase the Mac version, and you also want to get a refund for the in-app purchase of the Pro Features, I think you should be able to do that. But as Hawkmoth mentioned, we can't process the refund ourselves because in-app purchases happen through Apple's App Store. Apple maintains all control over transactions including refunds. You'll have to click the Report a Problem link on the receipt they sent you, and request the refund from them.

Again, I'm sorry for any confusion about that, but I hope this helps to explain how it works and what your options are! If you have more questions, please let us know - we're always happy to help! :)
