Hi @sydnyk,
Sorry for the delay in response here! I'm Vee, a real human on the AgileBits support team, and I'm happy to help you get your 1Password data synced. Our team is small but mighty; we don't have a call center or support hotline at this point, but we are always keeping an eye on the forums and email (support@agilebits.com, in case you'd prefer email support).
Some things we'll need to know in order to properly help you:
- What devices you're using 1Password on (e.g., iPhone 6, MacBook Pro)
- What version of operating system is running on each of those devices (e.g., iOS 8, OS X 10.10 Yosemite)
- What version of 1Password is running on each device (e.g., 5, 5.3)
- How you are trying to sync (e.g., Dropbox, iCloud, Wi-Fi)
- What steps you're able to follow in the instructions, and where things get too complicated or where you get stuck
This additional information will help us catch up to where you're at, and help you along from there. We'll get you syncing in no time! :)

I am using !passoword on a MacBook Pro, Yosemite 10.10.3 --- ipad6 version 8.4, ipad version 8.4 --- I believe they were synched, because 1passowrd is on all the machines and when you open it - the dial goes around on the syncing key and then it stops saying it is synced. I believe it synced through icloud. Having said that --- I am running version 5.3 of IPassword - bought at the Mac app store.
According to the many sets of complex instructions --- i believe i am synced and yet nothing happens when i work on the ipad or iphone going to websites with passwords --- I do not see the icon come up at the top of the bar, like i do with my mac pro --- can you e mail me like you did and help me through this --- I'm sure it is a simple fix, but I don't know where to go with it.0 -
Hi @sydnyk,
Just to mention about these forums. When we (AgileBits) respond to a customer's post we always use the forum's mention feature (the @ symbol followed by your username). When we do this you receive an email to notify you that somebody has mentioned you in the forums as well as a link to the post. Is this what you mean about emailing like Vee did?
Now to your issue. By the sound of it you're reasonably content with how 1Password works on the Mac but the confusion is with 1Password for iOS. If I'm correct then part of the confusion might be because iOS and OS X are so very, very different.
On the Mac we have the 1Password Browser Extension which you can download for any of the major browsers and you end up with the little extension symbol which is the icon I believe you're referring to i.e. this one
On iOS it isn't possible to install an extension, indeed prior to iOS 8 there was no way to interact with iOS Safari at all. Now Apple introduced iOS Extensions into iOS 8 and gave us a way of allowing you to fill directly within iOS Safari. The sequence though is quite different but we do have a page detailing this. You can find more on the iOS Extension at Use the extension (iOS). You first need to set up 1Password for iOS which you've already done by the sounds of it. Then you need to Enable the extension and then our page Fill items in Safari will help with how to use this different type of extension. I've linked to our pages because they have numerous images which I often find help explain better than merely words can.
Does knowledge of how the 1Password iOS Extension work help at all with using 1Password for iOS?
Just to highlight one other key difference. On a Mac you can open 1Password mini (via the icon) at any time, even if starting on a blank tab. If you select a Login item it performs what we call open and fill where 1Password passes the URL to your browser, the browser loads the page and then we fill. On an iOS device we currently only fill an open page so we only show items that can be applied to the open page in iOS Safari.
Hopefully this helps somewhat but if you do have further questions or something still isn't clear please do let us know.
