1Password 5 won't save a "login" for this Support Forum "Ask a question" form

About 20% of my 757 Login items are not for actual login forms. Instead, they're used to fill in default values on general-purpose forms, with "Never Submit" specified so I can manually fill in the rest of the fields.

This "Ask a question" page is a good example. Rather than look up (or try to remember) the four "Additional information" fields, I intended to add a new Login item with the four values. But "Save new login" does nothing at all – no popup window, no error message.

I'll grant that my non-login Login items don't always work. But this the first time 1Password has not given me the option to create a new Login item.

BTW, I'm using Safari 8.0.8. I'm surprised this "Ask a question" form does not ask for browser name and version.

  • Hi @Ward,

Can I ask, do you wait for 1Password to automatically ask if you wish to save or do you use our How to manually save a Login approach to force 1Password to save? I tried and if I follow the guide I was able to save a Login item that filled those four fields.

It's a neat idea by the way, all I would politely ask is don't forget to keep that Login item up to date

Please do let us know if manually saving creates the required item though. Based on my testing it should.
