Please fix the problems with Chrome. You are right, they are wrong, but they aren't going to change.
I'm tired of not being able to use chrome, please allow a workaround of some sort!

Greetings @j1mandel,
I'm a bit confused, we do work with the current Chrome. Now I know that if there is a pending Chrome update it will cause the browser code signature to change. As a result it means our extension does break until the update is applied.
Could you tell us a bit more about your system please as it should work.

Hi @j1mandel,
Thanks for letting us know! There should actually be a small update available for Chrome, which is for version 45.0.2454.99 (64-bit). In Chrome, please go to the menu for Chrome > About Google Chrome. In the window that opens, it will let you know if the update is ready to be installed, and may give you the option to relaunch Chrome to complete the installation. If so, please click the button to relaunch, and once it does, try the 1Password extension again. Does that help?
If not, can you please elaborate on the problem you're having with the 1Password extension in Chrome? I'm also using Chrome and our extension seems to be working fine for me. If you can describe exactly what you're trying to do, the exact steps you're taking to do it, what you expect to happen, and what happens instead, we should have a much better idea of how to help you get things working again. It will also help if you can let us know a few more details about your setup:
- What version of Mac OS X are you running?
- What exact version of the 1Password app is installed on your Mac?
- Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
- What version of the 1Password extension is installed in Chrome?
Thanks in advance! :)

Hi @c2ckid,
Thanks for providing the version info. I just went to check what version of Chrome I'm running, and it just updated from 45.0.2454.99 (64 Bit) to 45.0.2454.101 (64-bit). See if that update fixes things for you?

Thanks for your response. I have figured out when Chrome and 1Password is not working. As I reside in Bolivia I use NetShade to allow me to see websites in English and not in Spanish.
When I use the NetShade Proxy Service, in Chrome ONLY it seems to kill the link to the 1Password Mini extension and when you click on the Password icon in Chrome it keeps asking to install the Extension. However if I set Netshade to a VPN connection it works just fine or the same if I use a direct connection it works fine. Seems the Proxy service is the issue.0 -
I experience 1PW problems occasionally. I open 1PW mini and get an error message that says it cannot fill in information. I end up using firefox instead of chrome, but that is not an ideal solution for me.
j1mandel is using:
Chrome - Now I am up to version 45.0.2454 .101 now. I was not up to date.
1P mini extension 4.4.3.90
1Password 5 Version 5.3.2 (532001)

Hello @j1mandel,
So you've confirmed that you're running the latest stable version of everything; OS X, 1Password for Mac, our extension and at least for the moment Chrome (they issue a number of updates I believe). So with this knowledge I have a couple of more questions.
How do you normally open 1Password mini? For example, does the 1Password mini menu pop up if you click on the 1Password Chrome Extension icon? If it does then the extension is able to communicate with 1Password mini. The keyboard shortcut
⌥⌘\
actually works everywhere regardless if the extension is loaded but if it finds the active application is a browser without the extension it does notify you.I'm also curious if you have any software installed that might fall into one of the following categories.
- Firewalls
- Anti-virus
- Parental Control
- VPN
- Proxies
What we're looking for is anything that needs to monitor communication between your computer and anywhere else. The extension communicates over a WebSocket so it's using the same system - it's just all of the communication never leaves your Mac. Sadly these can sometimes get blocked. If you're getting an error message it might prove useful if we can see the message in its entirety, maybe the easiest way is a screenshot. Hopefully we're getting closer.
