5.3.2 is the version direct from AgileBits. Due to restrictions by Apple, this version cannot use iCloud sync.

If you bought 1PW no more than thirty days ago, you can get a refund and buy the version from the App Store.

Or you can decide to use Dropbox sync, which does have some advantages over iCloud, and is used by most AgileBits staff.

    Hi @apeshimam,

Danco is spot-on: iCloud sync is only available in the Mac App Store version of 1Password 5 for Mac. That's because it uses Apple's new CloudKit technology, which can currently only be used by apps sold through Apple's App Store. We'd absolutely love to be able to include that in the AgileBits Store version of 1Password as well, but unfortunately that's not currently possible. We have more information in these knowledgebase articles:

I was able to find your license in our system, and I see that you bought it back in 2013, so we wouldn't be able to refund that purchase now. Unfortunately Apple doesn't provide a way to convert a license for the AgileBits Store version of 1Password to the Mac App Store version, so if you wanted the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you would need to purchase that separately.

Alternately, you can use Dropbox sync, which is also a great sync option. It's how I've always synced my 1Password data, and many of my AgileBits colleagues do as well. 1Password is secure by design and your 1Password data is end-to-end encrypted, so with regard to security there's no difference between syncing 1Password data with Dropbox or iCloud. 1Password simply doesn't depend on the security of either to protect your data.

Dropbox also has the advantage that it can be used to share vaults with friends, family, and co-workers, whereas it's not currently possible to share anything between iCloud accounts. And it's the only single sync solution that works across all 1Password platforms: Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.

I'm sorry for the confusion about that! If you have more questions or need help to set up one of the sync options, please let us know. Thanks! :)

Is there any trade off with using the internal wifi sync solution? i realize that it'll only work when im logged the same network.

    Hi @apeshimam,

Aside from needing to be on the same network, one thing to keep in mind about Wi-Fi sync is that it's designed to work between one computer, and one or more mobile devices. So, that won't help if you need to sync 1Password between multiple Macs, but if you only have one Mac and one or more iOS devices, Wi-Fi sync is a great option!

We have a knowledgebase article which compares the sync options, so you might find that helpful: Sync options compared: Dropbox vs. iCloud vs. Wi-Fi

I hope that helps! Please let us know if you need more help with your sync options, or anything else. Thanks!
