Is it possible to use both Dropbox & Wifi sync?
I'm considering the scenario where I can use Dropbox to sync between the various iOS devices but then use Wifi Sync when syncing the same vault with my two Macs. I want to avoid the need to install the Dropbox client if possible hence the question. iCloud sync is not an option since one of my iOS devices is work issue and iCloud Drive is blocked.

Hi @Andy Whiteford,
Wi-Fi sync only works between one computer (Mac or PC) and one or more mobile devices (iOS or Android). So it would not work to sync two Macs together, unfortunately.
What you can do is use Wi-Fi Sync between one Mac and your iOS devices, and use Folder Sync for your Macs. What we recommend is the use of a USB flash drive. If you set up 1Password to sync to the flash drive using Folder Sync, it will recognize when the drive is and isn't there and sync as it can. Then all you need to do is pass the flash drive between the two machines on a regular basis to keep the two copies of 1Password up to date.
Does this sound like a solution that will meet your needs?

Hi Vee,
Many thanks for your reply. That would have been a work around but I have an alternative method that is more manageable for me.
I'll initially set everything up using iCloud between my Macs and iPads. Once done, the Macs will rarely be updating the vault, more just for looking up passwords so I will switch my iOS devices to Dropbox sync which will work with my work issue iPhone and every so often, I will switch my iPad to iCloud sync just to update the Vault there then switch back to Dropbox again.
This approach means my iOS devices will remain in sync and Macs, while not in perfect sync will receive regular updates to remain largely current. I tested this out last night and it seems to be working fine.0 -
Hey @Andy Whiteford,
That sounds like more work to me, but if it works for you, go for it!
Your 1Password data should sync fine with this method. There's a small possibility you could eventually end up with some sync conflicts from switching sync methods back and forth like this, but as long as you're not making changes/edits on every device, you should be fine. And of course we'll be here to help if you do run into any trouble.
Happy syncing! :)

Thanks Vee. It will work for me because 1Password lets you switch between sync methods easily and is quick to do so.
