1Password puts User ID in wrong field of Verizon website

Been using 1Password to log into the Verizonwireless.com website for quite awhile. However, I had two separate entries. One was "Verizon - ID" to enter the user ID and the other was "Verizon - PW" for use on the second page which asked for the password. This worked fine for quite awhile. However, in the last couple of months, when I would choose "Verizon - ID", instead of putting the ID into the appropriate box, it would be put into an email box near the bottom of the page. My ID is not an email (i.e.. no "@xyz.com" so I don't know why this is happening.

So, I decided to delete these entries and create new ones. I followed the instructions to create a login manually. However, once I create the new ID entry and try to use it, 1Password still puts the info into the wrong field ( and not the one in which I typed it).

In 1Password, the ID is put into a field called "IDToken1" and shows the little "ID" silhouette. I put Safari into developer mode and used 'Inspect Element' and that is the name of the field that it should go in. However, sometimes the ID is put there and other times it is put into a field (on the Verizon site) called "footerVZoptinemail". And, sometimes it puts my ID in both.

Also, when I create this new login, sometimes there is a field (when I "Show Web Form Details" in 1Password, titled password and my ID is put there as well. However, other times that field is not there.

In addition, there are two different "IDToken1" fields (one with my ID and one is blank)

I have attached a screen shot.

I am using Mac OS 10.11 and 1Password 5.4 beta 41

Any ideas on what is going on? How can I create new 1Password login items that work? By the way, I have tried the 'two page' process as well to the same results.

Regards,

John

    Hi @Spaceman,

I'm sorry you're having trouble filling your user ID on the Verizon site! It sounds like something probably changed in their login form. When that happens, saving a new Login item by following the steps in this knowledgebase article often solves the problem. You mentioned that you tried saving a new Login, although I don't know if you used the steps on that site or not. If not, please try that to see if it helps.

If that doesn't help and/or you already tried the steps from that article, would you mind giving us a few more details:

    • What version of the 1Password extension is installed in your browser?
    • What version of Safari are you using?
    • What are the exact steps you normally take to have 1Password fill your login credentials? (For example, do you go to the Verizon site first, then click on the 1Password extension and select your Login item?)
    • What is the exact URL for the Verizon sign in page from your Login item?

    Thanks in advance!
