Referrer: forum-search:Pissed off customer. I downloaded and paid on your web site. NOW, I find that wifi is defeated on the download and only enabled on the mac store version. I demand a refund so I can buy it from the mac store with more capability.

  • Hey @ahpendoaz! Actually, WiFi sync is completely possible in the AgileBits store version of 1Password. Here's how to set it up: https://support.1password.com/guides/mac/sync-wi-fi.html

The Mac App Store version of 1Password only has one benefit, and it's iCloud sync.

    Hope that helps! :)

  • Hi @ahpendoaz,

penderworth posted just as I was about to reply. They are correct, when it comes to differences between the AgileBits Store and Mac App Store version of 1Password there is one significant difference visible to the user and that difference is iCloud Sync. Both versions support Dropbox, Wi-Fi and Folder Sync. If you're having troubles with Wi-Fi Sync then the Mac App Store will not help as the same issue will likely be present.

Now Wi-Fi sync is between a single Mac and one or more mobile devices. If you're still having trouble after following the steps in the guide penderworth linked you to please do let us know. In fact the guide will help as you can say at which specific point what you observe diverges from what the guide stated should happen. If we know where the trouble is we can make suggestions on how to correct this so you can Wi-Fi Sync. Please do keep us updated and we'll work with you to resolve this.

So if I have muliptle devices and want to use iCloud, I'm screwed?

  • @ahpendoaz You can use all syncing services but iCloud in the AgileBits store version of 1Password. Dropbox is by far the best syncing solution, as well, because it supports Android and Windows devices as well, and you can access 1PasswordAnywhere on any computer if you need to. There's a great comparison of sync options over here: https://support.1password.com/sync-options/

    Hopefully that clears things up!
