Citibank does not allow login when filled from 1Password

Citibank.com does not allow a login when filled from 1Password. The apparent reason is that Citibank expects the user to type into the username field, and after leaving that field, part of the username is obfuscated. However when filled from 1Password, the entered text is not obfuscated and the site reports that as an error. I also tried to enter and leave the field to see if that would trigger the obfuscation, but it did not.

Thus, in order to login, the username must be manually typed. Not a huge issued, but I thought it would be worth reporting.

I have recorded a screencast showing exactly the behavior if you are interested. The screencast is a bit over 2MB.

This is a frequently discussed login. See if anything in this recent thread helps you (in the Saving and Filling in Browsers forum).

@jasimon9: Indeed. Definitely annoying! It's something we're working to improve (again), but it's a moving target. The simplest workaround is to use the following URL, which works much more smoothly:

    https://accountonline.citi.com/cards/svc/LoginGet.do

I hope this helps. Cheers! :)

I did look to see if this was already a discussion, but could not find anything and so started my own thread.

That workaround does work as desired. For now.

    Thanks!

@jasimon9, on behalf of Brenty, you're very welcome! I'm glad that helped.

You said it! ;) As Brenty mentioned, "it's a moving target." Our developers make changes so 1Password works better with Citi login sites, then something changes on those sites that breaks compatibility with 1Password, and it ends up going back and forth like that. It can be quite frustrating! But since we aren't in control of those websites, there's not much we can do aside from try our best to get things working again each time, although it's not always so easy.

If you need anything else, please let us know - we're always glad to help! :)
