Sync via Dropbox works *except* attached files do not show up on non-origin machines

I've been using 1Password for several years. I just got a new work Mac, and purchased the newest 1Password in the app store in order to bring this mac into sync. I use Dropbox sync. I waited for the Dropbox initial sync to complete, then opened my vault in Dropbox. Everything seemed to work as expected. However, I have noticed that several files I have attached to Secure Notes are not showing up on the new computer. To be sure, I went home, verified they were there (they were) and checked on my (brand new) iPhone - they're there. However, on the new Mac (running Yosemite 10.10.5 and 1Password Version 5.3 (530029) Mac App Store) although I see my vault, and passwords do seem to sync, I see no attached files on any of my notes. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

1Password Version: 5.3 (530029) Mac App Store
Extension Version: 4.4.3.90 (Safari)
OS Version: OS X 10.10.5
Sync Type: Dropbox

    Hi @jbzimmerman,

I'm sorry you're having trouble syncing attachments to 1Password on your new work Mac!

It's strange they're not showing up on the new Mac, especially considering they're all there on your new iPhone. I'm sure we can figure this out, and to start, it will help if you can let us know a few more details:

    • On your home Mac, what version of Mac OS X are you running?
    • Also on the home Mac, what exact version of the 1Password app is installed, and is it the AgileBits Store or Mac App Store version?
    • What exact version of 1Password is installed on your iPhone?
    • You mentioned this was a problem for files attached to Secure Notes - do you have files attached to any other types of items? And if so, did they sync to your new work Mac?
    • If you add a new item or make a change to an existing item on your home Mac, work Mac, or iPhone, does that sync to the others?
    • If you create a brand new item with a new attachment on one Mac, does that sync to the other Mac?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Drew!

    • I'm running OS X 10.8.5 on my home mac
    • I'm running 1Password 4 Version 4.4.3 (443000) Agile Web Store on my home mac
    • I'm running 1Password 6.0.1 App Store on my iPhone.
    • I don't have files attached to any other form of record, no. I didn't know I could attach files to other record types.
    • If I make changes to existing items on any of the three locations (home mac, iPhone, work mac) that involves changing record contents or new logins, those propagate.
    • I added a new Secure Note and added a file to it. It showed up on my iPhone (record and file) and the record showed up on my work mac but no attachment did.

I should note one reason I'm not running a newer OS on my home mac is that I have really, really terrible bandwidth in and out of my home, and downloading a 5+GB system update takes a day plus. :-( I'll be taking this computer somewhere else to wipe and upgrade it in the next few weeks, though.

    Cheers,
    jb

    Hi @jbzimmerman,

Thanks for the info! That's really odd, and I'm afraid I don't know why that isn't working. So, to help us figure out what's going wrong, I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from each of your Macs: https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac.html

Attach the Diagnostics Reports to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com. Please do not post your reports in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email(s), along with your forum username so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your reports in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the reports and make sure you receive a reply as quickly as possible. Once we see the reports we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance! :)
