I updated from 3 to 5 and 1Password is no longer autofilling

I updated from 1Password3 to 1Password5 because I have Yosemite on my Macbook Air, but password no longer autofills. Also it doesn't sync with my iPad, which still has 1 Password 3 on it.

    Hi @petrelpld,

I'm sorry you're having some trouble after upgrading to 1Password 5!

    ...but password no longer autofills.

Just to be clear, 1Password never fills a login form on a website unless you explicitly tell it to do so (for example, by double-clicking a Login item in the main 1Password app, or selecting a Login item from the 1Password extension in your web browser).

Do you mean that you are no longer able to have the 1Password extension fill your username/password on websites? If so, the first thing to make sure of is that all your data is in the 1Password 5 app on your Mac (it should have found the data from 1Password 3 when you opened 1Password 5 for the first time). In order for 1Password 5 to work with your browser, you'll also need to install the new extension: Installing the 1Password Web Browser Extension

If 1Password 5 has all your data and you've installed the new extension in your browser, but you're having trouble filling login forms on websites, please let us know the exact steps you're taking to do that, and what happens.

Also it doesn't sync with my iPad, which still has 1 Password 3 on it.

Unfortunately you won't be able to sync your data between 1Password 5 for Mac and 1Password 3 for iOS. The Dropbox option in 1Password 3 for iOS no longer works as it uses an old API that Dropbox discontinued a couple years ago. I'm assuming you had been using Wi-Fi sync between 1Password 3 for Mac and 1Password 3 for iOS, but starting with 1Password 4, the Wi-Fi sync option needed to be completely re-written - as a result, Wi-Fi sync in 1Password 3 is not compatible with Wi-Fi sync in 1Password 4 or higher. I'm sorry for the inconvenience!

What version of iOS are you running on your iPad? If it has iOS 6 or higher, we can help you to install a newer version of 1Password for iOS that will be able to sync with 1Password 5 for Mac. Let us know, and we'll continue from there. Thanks!
